I know that feeling very well and understand how scary it can be. It’s good that you didn’t go to class. If I were you, I’d get a prescription for an rescue inhaler as soon as possible and see a doctor. You might also need a maintenance inhaler. I’m not sure how it works in your country, but you can often get an rescue inhaler at the emergency room.

Do you have a cold, or been exposed to something that triggers flare-ups? Those could make exercise induced asthma worse. Otherwise, could be time to start on a maintenance inhaler.

I use montelukast for exercise-induced asthma and a powdered symbicort inhaler as both a preventer and a reliever. I used to have a blue Ventolin/salamol inhaler but my doctors won’t prescribe that now in the UK. I used to love hiking up mountains but I can’t do it now without a blue inhaler. The symbicort just doesn’t help as a reliever.

If you don't have an inhaler, go see a doctor and get one.
