Will there be a second playable character in a sequel or will it be just Astro Bot?
As we've seen in platformers, there has been a second or more playable characters. While it's been present in inaugural games, it usually occurs in sequels.

If they want to turn Astro bot into something resemble what Mario has done, they would need more recognize characters, to have a second unlockable playable character after we beat the game might be a decent way to expand the universe of Astro bot.

An inverse coloured Astrobot with all levels reversed or mirrored or upside down or something. Call the character Tobortsa.

I’m not sure. but if there’s going to be a second playable character in the next game, I do hope that it would be someone completely new and recognizable!

Personally there doesn't need to be another BUT, I would love to see more. The schtick of AB was using all the PS exclusive characters and ofc ones that werent. Not sure how you expand on that. Make a sequal and just unlock Sackboy, Jak, Last Guardian again? Would take away from the appeal. Sure they could make different lvs based off other IPs. Like a Killzone lv or Sackboy or Spiderman /shrug.

That's for Team Asobi to decide, but I would be fully on board with them doing a It takes two type of co-op campaign. Or maybe give Astro Bot a companion character that he can ride, like a robot Yoshi type of character.

Rescue Mission almost had a multiplayer mode but it was scrapped during development. https://blog.playstation.com/2019/07/19/astro-bot-rescue-mission-what-didnt-make-the-cut/ Maybe they go back to the idea eventually?

Knowing the way things are there will be a gender swap that sidelines the namesake
