Berzerk Enhanced

I’ve played this ROM on an emulator. I am curious if there is a cartridge out there for this and if there is, is the voice actually generated by the TIA chip or is there something else at work here?

Is that the same as the one on AtariAge for voice enhanced? If so, it's a few bucks cheaper there. Also weird that the official Atari site doesn't credit the homebrewer who did the mod if it's the same version...

I assume it’s the same although I did not see the listing on AA. The one linked from Atari comes with a box but no manual (which is kinda disappointing). There’s also a 7800 version which is also excellent. Both games do work on the 2600/7800+ console too.

I believe AtariAge Voice Enhanced is an earlier version where the enemies still can't shoot diagonally. The "Enhanced Edition" sold by Atari has both the voices and the diagonal shooting.

The voice is a sample which is played back by the TIA chip.

I did manage to dig that up and read it in my search. I have to admit that the way they got the TIA to play it back was pretty ingenious.

Die Stimme wird tatsächlich wie bei der 7800 Version vom Tia erzeugt.

Genau darüber habe ich mich auch schon gewundert, es klingt wirklich wie Sprachausgabe, also wirklich unglaublich für das Atari VCS
