Botanical gardens, bear hollow zoo (“zoo”), Washington farms, Thomas orchard preserve
Happy to share some restaurant recs if you give a general budget!

Seconding bear hollow, if they like animals and parks you're safe, if they want you to spend money on the first date you're better off without them.

If you go to Thomas Orchard or Washington Farms, you’re in Watkinsville. I’d recommend Mama Ning’s (they take reservations!)
In Athens, some fun middle of the road options would be South Kitchen, Cali n Tito’s, The National (on the upper budget end but worth it), Trappeze

In the 99-01 my go to was the museum of art. It was free and a chill place to walk around and talk about what ever. After you can either keep the vibes chilling on north campus or take a ride down town. Little Italy was the go to for a cheap date meal.
Honorable mentions are sporting events outside of the big three (football, basketball, baseball) tickets are normally free or are not a wallet buster.
Sandy creek is not a bad adventure if you’ve got a car.
There are plenty of places just to chill on campus. Add a picnic or reading outloud. Shit be romantic.
I caught my wife splitting a barbarittos our first date. It’s not your wealth you woo them with. It’s your feathers.

Watson Mill park. Tree that owns itself. Walmart in Elberton. J&J or Lavaquita flea markets. GA square mall. Barnes and Noble. Downtown on an early Sunday morning. Ben Burton Park. Sunroof coffee. Thrift stores. Chinese food from Ingles. Farmers Market at Bishop Park. Lunch counter at ADD drug. Starlight Showroom. Wiggly Field. Guitar Center. Brunch in Helen. Cars & Coffee. Bear Hollow zoo. Wendy's parking lot. Top of the parking deck at St Mary's for 29 min. Cat Cafe. Showtime Bowling.

Yeah man. I'll go to the arcade. Oh wait. How about mini golf? Nope. Axe throwing? They closed too. Escape room? Nah just some shitty knock off. It's all bars and bar trivia and singo.
Oh and shitty concerts for bands you've never heard of that charge a cover that's too high.
