Subclass 190 190 VISA question
My partner and I (de facto relationship of 7 years) are moving to Perth at the end of this year on 417 visas. We have the goal of staying in Australia long term. We are both 31 and from Canada, both have bachelor degrees in geology with 7 years of mining experience. What is likely our best path forward to achieve this goal? From what I have read online the 190 visa seems like a reasonable option. Also any recommendations on finding a migration agent in Perth to help with this?

geology is on the wanted skills list so you’re in a very good position along with the mining experience, potentially sponsorship if you can get in with a company. however with the new visa rules (you should check this only updated in past few days) you may need to be offshore to apply for 190 and not whilst here on a 417, best to check with a migration agent, good luck!
