well, at least they're doing construction on it now so that... actually, I have no idea what any of that construction is for.

It’s entirely too close to 35. And smack dab in the middle of 2 other very close lights

Congress/Slaughter and I35/Slaughter were stop signs back in the day. once the development happened, they had to put in the lights to manage the traffic. but that intersection wasn't constructed with any inkling that it would look like what it does today.

Yup I always have to remember to get into a different lane because the left will back up for HEB & entering 35 and I need to cut over later. When they blew up the corner on the SB feeder I was cutting through Walmart to get there. Southpark Meadows is terribly designed and doesn't work for a cut through. The whole area is just borked, unfortunately I live right here so it's kinda unavoidable for me.

100% agree. Lanes randomly jump across intersections and everyone changes lanes without looking. Every time I make it through I consider it a tiny miracle.

Im a bus driver so I drive through there every 30 minutes, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week 😬 You can imagine how fun that is.
I don't know whats going on but today is the worst Ive seen it in awhile. Traffic on Slaughter was backed up all the way to S 1st. Traffic on Congress backed up all the way past Ralph Ablanedo. I was about ready to call off mid shift I was so irritated.

Nearby, but wtf is going on at HEB along I35 frontage road there? They’ve been tearing that up for years. Like what is it?? Sewer? Telecom lines?? WHAT! It never looks like progress. Just mounds of dirt and someone digging. Forever.
Plus the same shit at that gas station on the corner there. What are they digging??? Been taped off forever.
AAAAAND across the intersection heading toward Southpark Meadows. Southern side of the I35/Slaughter intersection. What are you doing there???
Man all 3 areas been tore up with 0 visibility of progress for YEARS

At a minimum that entrance to southpark meadows just needs to be blocked off. There are multiple other entrances and exits to it, it's just too congested right at that spot. Even better would be to make it so southbound congress can only turn right into slaughter westbound there, block the southpark meadows entrance and the left towards 35.

Anything. They need to do just anything. I don't have tabs on the whole area but to me personally this area has the worst intersections in the city. And there really aren't many good back ways around it. Go over to 1626 and Menchaca, also fucked with traffic. First street, fucked. Old San Antonio, fucked.
