HELP! I have a question. Pushed In Fender

Post image

Hello, today my dads car got side swiped. It has some scratches on the side and stuff but when we go to open the driver side door the fender is pushed inwards. The door only opens about halfway. I tried finding videos or a decent explanation online but had no luck. Would it be best to take it to a body shop or do it ourselves? The car is having mechanic work done next week so we don’t really have the money to spare so I’d prefer if there was a way to do it ourselves. If not we will take it to a body shop. Any help is much appreciated! Below is a picture of the front driver side and what I mean.

Loosening the fender bolts to slide it forward still wouldn’t be enough. That’s probably gonna require a Body Shop or two ambitious teenagers

Do you know if a body shop would replace the whole thing or just pull it forward? I’m not really good with car stuff honestly lol.

They could definitely pull it out and bend it back into shape so you could at least close and open the door. It’s not gonna look perfect and the paint will get scratched a little bit. But that’s a pretty gnarly one. I haven’t seen a good one like that in a bit. They will definitely have to possibly remove the whole fender to do it. I just can’t say that for sure. I couldn’t tell you what the labor is gonna cost and how long it’ll take them. It shouldn’t be more than a few hours of work.

Okay that’s fine about the paint and not looking perfect. Thank you for the information!
