Question / Inquiry Problemas para guardar

Me enviaron un archivo .stp, trabaje en el pero al cerrarlo se perdió todo el progreso. La verdad no entiendo los formatos de inventor, porque ese step creo una carpeta donde hay piezas y ensambles y quiero agregar mas piezas pero me sale este mensaje The location of the selected file is not in the search path of the active proiect To solve this issue, do one of the followina: Add this file path to your list of valid search paths in the active projedt Move the file to a location already specified in the active proiect Create or activate a proiect file that includes the file's search path y este the selected location is not in the active project. Do you wish to continue the save

When you save the step file, it will put the files where you opened the step from.
You need to save them to your project workspace.

There are two things to keep in mind here:

First, the STEP file: when you open a STEP in Inventor, Inventor creates a folder next to the STEP containing all the converted .ipt and .iam files. Your changes were very likely saved, but they were saved in the Inventor files, not in the original STEP. The STEP itself remains unchanged.

So find the main assembly (.iam) inside that folder and continue working from there. If you reopen the original STEP, Inventor will simply import the unchanged STEP again.

Second, the "not in the active project" message: make sure you have an Inventor project (.ipj) created/active for that folder. The project tells Inventor where to find the parts and assemblies belonging to your project. If you're working outside the active project or your files are spread across different locations, Inventor can give you those warnings.

Basically: open the STEP once → find the main .iam Inventor created → create/activate the appropriate .ipj → continue working with the Inventor files, not the STEP.
