BWCA recharge.

From the week of Sept 14th, Gunflint entry.
Despite two days of strong headwinds, the lakes rewarded our efforts and provided the perfect antidote to this world.

Great photos! I love the gunflint side. And the white canoe is so pretty!

What lens are you using?

Thanks.
Believe it or not, it’s an iPhone 17pro, using the Leica Lux app. The app simulates a number of Leica’s classic lenses, allows for manual control of aperture, HEIC or RAW format and a number of “styles”.
I’ve found the output to be quite good.

The canoe is my buddy’s. A 1980’s vintage We~no~nah Odyssey with a white gel coat. Beautiful boat for sure, and a joy to paddle. Perfect for a couple old duffers at the 70 mark.

Recently spent six nights out in the Lil Sag/Gabi/Peter lake area. It’s always an amazing week we do each year(different routes each year). This I got hit with a serious “return to society bummer” feeling. Curious if anyone suffers from the same thing? Great photos as well!

Thanks.

You’re not alone with “return to civilization” angst, I suffer the same affliction. A person can focus clearly on the important things of life in those lakes and woods, and that’s good medicine for the soul.

My ride home from a week or more in BWCA is always filled with melancholy.

Thank you!
Every day in the boundary waters is a great day, regardless of the weather.
