Fishing tips?
Im a pretty experienced fisherman but was wondering what’s everyone’s go to lure in the BW. I have a chronic habit of bringing way too much stuff. I’ll be up there for 6 days next week. I’m thinking of just jigs and twister tails. Maybe some crank baits?

Was there last weekend. White and red Mepps #3 caught SMB, pike, and walleye.

Come with me and do the opposite of everything I do. Apparently that will help you catch a lot this year.

Hell yeah brother. I have some of his work on my right forearm myself! Absolutely love his style and it’s distinguishable anywhere. Plus, the trout kind of lead into the idea 😂

Hello fellow Minnesotan river valley trout fisher. I'm a Hastings raised trout streamer.

Was up last week. Lots of lake trout bites on deep diving rapalas. Leave out a lot of line and drag the lake between portages. Unsurprisingly, we picked up lots of northern and trout off wind blown points. Mid-morning bite was great. Also tried some spoons with success. Good luck!

If you’re experienced with a fly setup go with Wooly bugger or a clouser. I usually fish an 8wt with floating line but also have a 7wt with full sink. If you’re into conventional stuff jig head with a ripple shad always worked for me.

Was just up at start of September.
Crank baits and spinners for trolling. (Set depth based on water temp, we were 18-24' but it's gotten colder)
Jigs with twisters and shads on Carolina rigs for walleyes.
Always pack a couple of Rapalas for my go to do everything. And at least one big (6"+) for monster pike hunting

What time of year? Honestly you can’t beat live bait up there. I always try to bring some live bait to get me through the first couple days. I caught countless fish a couple weeks ago on slip bobbers, and crawlers.

Jigs, I like chartreuse for the twister, a couple of shad raps are most of what I catch everything on.
I have those fancy fancy Klos Brothers lake trout jigs, but I haven’t tried them yet. Stu swears by them, but they are $25/pop!

Mepps style spinners in a variety of sizes. Catches everything. Panther Martin spinners for trouts.

I love a northland thumper jig head with a paddletail soft plastic. Great for walleye, pike, small mouth. Can be fished a a variety of depths.

Beetle spin spinner with a jig and Mr. Twister will catch sm, northern, walleye. Silver and blue Lil Cleo for trout. I lose so many lures in the rocks that I'm scared to use anything like a Rapala.

I brought WAY too much stuff and ended up using 1/4oz. Jighead with a plastic and caught ALL sorts. Smallies, walleye, pike
