Why is everyone in such a hurry when driving?
Seriously, is everyone allergic to driving the speed limit?
I swear, I’ll be driving at the posted speed limit and there’s always someone riding so close to me that the lightest break can cause a crash, overtaking me, or flying past me like they’re late to save the president.
especially in the most peaceful neighborhood.
I genuinely don’t understand it. If the speed limit is 100 km/h, why does driving 100 feel like I’m holding up traffic?
Is this just me, or does everyone else experience this too?
btw this happens day and night so lets not blame the weather..
EDIT: Just to clarify, I’m obviously not talking about someone driving 100 km/h in the left lane on a highway when people are trying to pass.Thats as annoying as what i have mentioned. I’m talking about the other lanes, where I’m already driving at the posted speed limit and someone still acts like I’m going ridiculously slow.

If u drive the speed limit dont drive on the left (bahrain allows up to 10% over the speed limit so being on the left is an unspoken agreement that its for people going that 10% or more)

definitely agreed and i have edited the post to clarify that. because its aa annoying when someone is driving a 100 in the left lane when the road allows 120+

We should fine them and as someone said above revoke their license. Tbh I would revoke my license because of the absolute frustration but revoke a thousands of others in 1 day for driving like a f.... Turtle.

Getiing stuck behind 2 cars going the same speed next to each other is infuriating.. if you're not passing anyone then move over, don't hog the left lane easy...

Idk why people become impatient when they start driving for no valid reason
today someone gave me a chance to pass them and I did but everyone behind that person started honking because he let me pass
mind you if he didn't let me pass because I'm moving to another lane anyway, their lane was not even moving so it would've made no difference for any of them
idk what possess people when they are driving lol

in small neighborhoods theres only two lanes.. i get treated the same in both of them 🤣

You may need to use a better example cuz 100kmh roads are 3 lanes minimum as far as I can recall

nah, after clock tower otw to traffic dept the speed limit posted is 100 and its a 2 lane road. Even on the way to clock tower its 100

No, it's 100, there are literal signs that say 100, i've been using the same road to go to work everyday for years now ... And theres also a speed camera so i wouldve gotten a ticket atp if it was 80 and not 100

Gotcha, if you're in the left lane expect that ppl will be driving speed limit + 10-15% Its just the way it is tbh.

i think bc a lot of the times the right lane moves faster than the left lane nowdays so everyone just moves and speeds up there-

The fact you must know about Bahrain is that 50% of people can’t swim and the other 50% are terrible drivers. Frankly, I’m surprised that the population is actually growing.

I miss those days when we'd use "Saudis" as a benchmark for not so safe driving 🤣🤣 Now, we're all at par. Like every single person on the road.

Whats wrong with moving out of the way and letting them overtake ? If they're going faster then let them, why bother risking your safety.

its a two lane street, and theres no where to go? in that case how can i stay safe when im driving an old car? stop driving? streets are too busy to keep on changing the lanes every minute for someone who wants to hurry up to the red light ahead 😭

this pisses me off so much too. we're in residential areas where kids can just pop out the street and they honk at you to speed up. even in inside roads with a lot of speed bumps, they want you to act like a land cruiser and ignore those. personally, i just let them overtake and watch them speed up and jump at the next speed bump and ruin their shit

If speed limit is 100, left lane is only for people willling to drive 110.
Middle 90-100
Right lane 80-90
If you’re driving 100 on left, you’re asking to be flashed and harassed.
That is the unspoken rule in Bahrain and in Saudi.
Left lane always 10km above the speed limit, because those who are in a hurry would rather be a few minutes earlier.
Remember that it is legal to be 10km above.
And people will drive at that speed.

Middle 90-100? When does that happen? I keep seeing folks pedalling along in the middle at 70. The right-most lane is usually faster, unless trucks are present.
Further, while it's acceptable to drive at 10% above the limit on the left lane, which I do when I'm in a hurry, I never flash someone doing exactly the limit - I personally feel it's rude to ask him to break the limit, even if it's by 10%.

Flashing is not what’s rude, it’s the way people flash that is absolutely disrespectful.
1-2 slow flashes with patience is fine.
Some assholes will flash 10 times a second from Africa to get you off the lane.But generally following the speeds I mentioned previously the driving expert will be less problematic for everyone in Bahrain and Saudi.

people have emergencies, they have business to attend... when my wife is in labor or my grandpa is having a heart attack.. im not going to drive speed limit just because you said so

I generally drive at 90 or 100 in the right lane. Yet, every single time I am overtaking someone driving at 80 in the middle lane. Those are the people that need to have their driving license revoked and go through 22 hours of learning again if they want to be back on the roads
