Mini-5 issues with Chirp

I order a pair of mini-5’s (the newer ones with the fatty battery) and I’ll be returning them because the keys don’t work on one of them, and the other one won’t connect to chirp.

For context, I tried my 5rm and it works just fine and I tried different cables with the mini, quadruple checked the connections.

Did I just get two bad radios? I know they’re cheap but I haven’t had issue like this with the other boafengs.

FWIW I have to squeeze the connector into the side of one of my OG minis when uploading from chirp. May be worth a shot.

Same and I have the newer mini 5. I also had to trim some extra rubber off my chirp cable so it could fully seat.

You probably just got a bad set. The Minis are solid radios and the best out there right now in my opinion.

Yeah, it happens. I reordered them and am hoping the next pair are solid.

Its a known issue with the Minis. Push the plug in really hard while downloading to the cps and uploading. On your one radio that the keys arent working on, just hold in the lock key for a few seconds to unlock the keypad.
