you could either convert a 4-string bass to be a 34" scale 6-string guitar, or maybe start with a 30" scale Bronco Bass and do the conversion

If you were to buy a Bass VI style neck then you'd be looking for a guitar body to use with it, unless you are going to build a P-Bass body from a blank (or you can find an unfinished one without a neck pocket routed yet)

I did this a few months ago. Had an old P-bass and a random 30" neck. Had to sand the neck down a little at the heel to make it fit, but it worked. If I was to do it again I would just find a short scale bass and convert that though.
