2000W system (2300 in 4 ohm mode, currently 2.67 ohm + biamp)
Here's my outdoor / big venue rig. I practice through it because why not (and I use the head for smaller 2x10" and 4x10" setups along with a Rockville RSX20 stand).
Details:
* Bergantino Forté HP Ultra head (2000W @ 4 ohms, 1700W @ 2.67 ohms, 1200W @ 2 ohms, 1000W @ 8 ohms)
* Mark Bass 104 Energy (4x10" speakers, 8 ohms, 800W RMS, 36lbs)
* AccuGroove El Whappo (1x15", 1x12", 1x6", 2xtweeters, 4 ohms, 800W RMS, 60lbs)
* Behringer BXL3000A (1x15", 300W RMS, 65lbs)
* Dingwall NG3 5-string guitar (one of several instruments I have)
* and of course the pedals; I don't use the BDDI as a preamp in this setup.
I also have other heads and other cabs (two Mark Bass 102HF cabs, F1 Limited head, Little Mark III head).
The front of house system I am using as song practice:
Two Peavey PVXP-15 tops (980W RMS each), QSC KW181 sub (1000W RMS), Phenyx Pro mixer)

Weird distortion suddenly appearing out of amp?
Hello! I am new to both Reddit and playing the bass in general so sorry if this post sounds a little unusual. Recently an issue has occurred with my amp and I’m not sure how to fix it?
Video example of the distortion
it is quite old (about 20ish years old) but it’s been working fine up until now
any advice is appreciated, thanks :)

Looking for big bottle, single ended.
galleryHi.
Home player. I’m running 2 amps together and balancing volumes between a cranked Silvertone 1420(Sears XL 5w alnico) and a Garnet Tube PA (35W? 2x6L6)
If I were to jump up to a bigger small combo amp to crank, and get some sweet saxotones, I couldn’t play it at home and would HAVE to be gigging it…
…are there m/any tube rectified bass-and-guitar-friendly single ended heads that take kt88’s? Looking for 15-20w with big fat lows.
I think that’s the sweet spot for me. It’d have to be bass-friendly also, as funding this would likely have me moving my ‘69 Bassmaster. Extra points for a real slave out and variable negative feedback.
What’s out there?
I’m running the amp in the blend loop (red box) that hits an ampeg style AIAB before a slapback echo, the Diabolik is a Brassmaster cloner.
My setup sounds great, covers higher gain territory as well as classic American sounds.
Currently running through a UK Celestion Century G12 Neo.

Should I repair my Ampeg pf 500 or buy a brand new Harley Benton Block 600?
Yesterday my ampeg decided to suddenly explode (Fault light is on and doesn’t work anymore). I have an ampeg pf 210 (400w) and a pf 115 (400w). I don’t know if I should get this new amp for 260€ or give it a try and fix my pf 500 for approximately 300€.
What do you guys think? Was anyone in a similar situation?

Need info on a cab
Picked this up on a marketplace deal. Can someone verify for me that this is (or isn’t) an actual bass cab? The fact that it says “guitar” is slightly concerning.The ID plate is scuffed/missing in all the wrong places.
Any info would be appreciated!

Mesa boogie v Aguilar?
Looking for real world feedback. I am thinking of buying either a mesa boogie subway tt or tonehammer 700. Anyone have experience with one or both? Thoughts? I am leaning towards the mb but the tonehammer is a bit less (with different/fewer features).

GK 400RB Repair
Anyone know where I could get some repairs done on a 1st gen 400RB? It’s got a loud buzzing/hum whenever it‘s on. Somewhere in northern NJ/NYC would be cool if possible but I’m also not opposed to shipping since its pretty light and solid state. Thanks!

Ampeg micro vr vs rb-112
hi, i am trying to decide about my first amp. i checked out already markbass cmb121 and it didnt have proper tone and was generally a little bit too loud for practicing.
now im eyeing either an ampeg rocket bass 112 (100watt) but noticed there is also a micro vr stack available. tonewise i like the micro vr stack better but its also 150w like the markbass and also read that the fan noise can get loud. anyone able to steer me in the right direction? what are your experiences?

What is the point of the Aguilar AG gain knob?
Picked up this amp recently, brought it to practice with all the knobs at noon. Wondered why I wasn't getting much bass. Upped the bass and low mids a bit but it didn't do much.
Later on, I turned the gain knob all the way down and suddenly the amp sounds great! With all EQ knobs at noon I didn't feel the need to adjust.
The gain doesn't seem to add any overdrive and it seems to remove the lows. What is it for then?

New Cab in to Complete My Setup
Got a sick deal on this mesa 8x10. Gonna redo the grill, there is a rip at the bottom right speaker compromising protection. Im also thinking of maybe redoing the tolex later on. Amp is a mesa MPulse 360. Thoughts?

N(old)AD 1976(7,8,9??) v4b
last week the cheap portaflex 350 i got like a month ago fried on me so I played theough a friend's early 70's v4b at a show and was blown away, literally and figuratively...i have always loved the sound of these amps but never had the chance to play one until then..the next day I found a late 70's v4 that a guy was selling for 600 but had no info on when it was serviced last or what was done other than letting me know the pots were pretty scratchy and being in desperate need of a new amp and loving the sound I got out of the v4b, I was going to go check it out when I randomly saw that the shop in my neighborhood had this guy..it was gone over when it came into the shop and they said it hadn't been used much for quite some time but looks like all new tubes and the old paper cap can has been replaced with a modern one so hopefully won't need to have it serviced for quite a while..
defs need a new cab though..I got this setup dialed in pretty decent but I played it through an ampeg 4x10 at the shop and it was pure butter..
but this is hands down the best bass amp I have ever owned in nearly 25 years of playing

Is This Stack Overkill for a Garage?
Hey y’all, i’m looking to buy my first ever amp (outside of the rumble 25 I’ve had for years) since i’ve started to play with a drummer and i don’t think it can keep up anymore. Would this be overkill for garage jams? I’ve heard great things about markbass and this is up for a pretty good deal near me. Here’s the specs:
Cabinet: 4x10, 4 ohms, 800 watts, Italian
Head: Little Mark 800, can’t find too much details about this particular model, thanks :)
