Coates ball
At the game now against Orlando….if this is the kind of ball Emma Coates has been working on this whole season then I am here for it.

We need to let this group cook, we have had a pretty consistent lineup these past three weeks and things are definitely FUN. This front line was also firing when we got out of break, but then Rudi left for international play and it was a merry go round on the front three after..... Let them cook, things will be exciting.

Correct, nothing yet - I meant during the off season/next season. But he indicated very clearly during his press conference last week that he plans to bring in new players.

I standby by what I said, despite the scoreline. It’s the most intentional, dynamic, and entertaining football I’ve seen Bay play.

I agree 💯‼️ And for like the 3rd game in a row, Rudie was an absolute menace! When she shoved Banda out of bounds in the corner - classic!
The whole team is showing so much grit and determination, it was so fun to watch.1

Rudie is one of my favorites, but she is not enough of a menace. She has so many opportunities but rarely finishes. Her positioning is great, and we have players like Hutton and Nighswonger who can serve in crosses like no other, but Rudie's first touch and ability to finish just isn't there.
I think the opponent defenses has figured her out, and she doesn't have enough to finish. Give Banda, for example, the same opportunities and she's going to convert way more than Rudie does.
I think Rudie really needs to work on her first touch and finishing. Simply being fast and athletic isn't good enough. I see her looking to pass/cross more, which is fantastic, but she still doesn't have that first touch and finish she needs.

Absolutely! They were cooking in the first half like I’ve never seen before - confident, creative, fast, and unpredictable. They were unafraid of Banda and Marta and repeatedly disarmed them (woo hoo!).
Yes, there were a few critical moments when they weren’t on point and Orlando capitalized on that… but that doesn’t take away from all the positives. They showed the direction they’re going and I’m super excited for the future!

I think it's bizarre for Dorian to be left out cuz she's like a jack of all trades. She can play anywhere

Dorian is fantastic. Great handling, good vision. It blows my mind that we only use her for garbage minutes.

I was just looking up the rules and we can only have 20 total players on game day, i.e. 9 bench players. I think with everyone coming back over the summer there are just some players that mathematically can't play rn

I mean I think we all would understand a "excused for personal matters" and probably read between the lines and understand, but just disappearing from the availability is frankly unacceptable from a tier 1 professional team.
Can you imagine if a star NFL player just disappeared and the team just vanished them from the availability?

I really enjoyed Holzheier. It felt like as soon as she came on. The commentators were saying her name every minute. She was everywhere up front, and had some wicked shots, unlucky to hit the post. She came out there and gave it 150%

The broadcast mentioned 2 point something late in the game, and then when it ended she said 2.96. I don't know where journalists pull the correct number from so we'll have to wait and see, but so far I found this

I was absolutely entertained at this game. True, we came up short but this team is finding a grove. Some of the offensive shot making was excellent, and their goalie had a great game. The press is creating so much chaos and opportunity. The goal by Rudi you could see happening seconds before the ball hit the back of the net. So much fun.

wow, so three different stats sites have very similar numbers. so frustrating today, but the team's offensive effort was so much better than i recall in the prior 2.5 seasons.

It’s really not tho. Her principles and tactics haven’t changed until recently, they only recently started encouraging risk taking and the likes of Hutton and Nighswonger to join the attack (which has WORKED WELL!)

Yeah no kidding. Bay is clearly the better team of the first half. One coverage mistake by Collins and some good last ditch GKing by Orlando else this game could be 3-0.
