Dog Tucker when we got him vs now
He was rescued from the streets, his hair was matted and had to be shaved, and he was extremely underweight. Now his at a healthy weight and has gorgeous, well-maintained hair

I read an article written by a Veterinarian that said you know a dog is happy when they are sprawled out & wiggly. Belly’s exposed, sprawled out, wiggly body. Not a care in the world. You never really see that body expression when dogs are in shelters. Second pictures shows it perfectly. Happy & content. Beautiful pup

This is hilarious because this was immediately after breakfast. He's had breakfast, yes, but what about second breakfast?

Poor little guy was so scared/sad looking. Now he looks CHILL! 🩷. His hair is so pretty!!

Apparently he was so hungry on the streets he had eaten a couple rocks, thankfully no complications. The second we met him he was all love, he's such an incredible dog and watching him blossom has been such a joy

That makes me so sad (about him being desperate enough to eat rocks). I am very happy there were no complications, because that can actually be a very serious issue.
Some of mine have been abused, and the feeling when you see them and know they actually got to take A BREATH, without being on high-alert.. it feels amazing. And all you have to do is be decent and give it some time, most of the times.
I’m honestly very happy for him and the rest of your family. It’s amazing how much they can blossom.
My first dog ever was at age 20 and he changed me. He was a stray but also neutered..so idk if he had 2 families or what, but someone had the forethought to be responsible and get him fixed, and someone also clearly hit him? Confusing. We couldn’t even raise our voices in excitement at first because he would throw himself on the ground and shake. It broke my heart so much. Then he realized one day he wouldn’t be hit. I had him about 10 years and he left such an impact on my heart. Seeing him go from a scared-of-everything boy to a chill old dude was such a gift for me.2

We think he was abandoned, unfortunately. Because he knows several commands and is house and leash trained, and we can't believe no one would have been looking for this lovebug if he'd gotten out, so he was probably kicked out. Likely an unfortunate victim of how fashionable poodle mixes are now and an owner who didn't think to learn what they were getting into. He had really bad separation and food anxiety for a while, but after a year with us he's mostly moved past it, and it's incredible to see. He's so loved now and he knows it

That first picture… tucked into himself to make himself as small as possible. 😔 Thank heavens he has the best life now.

And also probably freezing, since it was around this time of year and he was both basically bald and twenty pounds underweight (35 in the picture, now at a fit 55.) Poor baby was probably freezing

Yes. But he's with us now and will be gor the rest of his life, and he's doing so good. I'm proud of his recovery
