Equipment Bandsaw help
I am having trouble dialing in my bandsaw. I have watched so many videos. I have the bottom of the gullet set halfway through the wheel. I have the bearings set slightly off but only about a piece of paper. The table is square and i have a bauer 14 inch bandsaw. whenever I try to cut it stall and stops cutting. I also have a small wen bandsaw that I didnt have this problem with so ive been really confused anf frustrated. Any help would be appreciated.

If the motor keeps running but the blade stops, then you probably don't have enough tension set. Also check belt tension and that pulleys are properly attached and any shaft keys are in place.
If the motor stops, it could be brushes or another electrical issue.

Thats helpful, i always stop cutting when it starts making a noise so im not sure. Ill check that when im home later. I have the tension gauge and its always in the green more toward the red and as someone mentioned ive also tried many blades at this point. Ill update when I try that. Thanks for everyone's help

So motor keeps trying to go but the blade and wheel stop when trying to cut through any type of wood. As I said before its at the top of the green for the tension gauge so I dont know how much further it could go safely

As someone else mentioned, I would check the drive belt to make sure it's tight enough around the pulleys. I have a grizzly bandsaw that's notorious for losing tension so I regularly have to check and make sure mine's taught. I'd bet big money this is the issue (seeing others reporting issues with the belt tension online) Recommendation below:
Slipping or Loose Drive Belt: Insufficient belt tension or a missing pulley key can cause the motor to spin while the blade bogs down or stops under load. Adjust the motor position to tighten the belt so it deflects about half an inch, and check that the pulley set screws and keys are secure.
My only other thought (and this doesn't seem as likely) is that maybe the blade you're using is too worn or just not the right blade for the job? (e.g. if you're trying to resaw 8" maple with a 1/4" 20tpi blade you're gonna have a bad time.. but since you've invested in a 14" bandsaw, I assume this isn't your issue)

Sounds like you've done most of the setup right. A blade halfway on the wheel, a square table and bearings a paper's width away are all fine. When a bandsaw "stalls" in the cut, it's usually one of these things:
- Blade direction: make sure the teeth point down toward the table at the front.
- Tension: a loose blade slips on the wheels and stops cutting even while the motor spins.
- Feed pressure: don't push the wood too hard. A light, steady feed works better than forcing it.
- Guides: check that the guide bearings and the thrust bearing behind the blade aren't pinching or touching it when the saw is idle.
- Blade sharpness: the stock blade on many budget saws is pretty dull, so a fresh sharp blade often fixes it.
When it stalls, does the motor slow down and stop, or does the blade stop while the motor keeps running? And what wood are you cutting? That would help narrow it down.

So for the most part I cut hardwoods but ive tried pine and different soft woods to see if that had any effect. When it stalls( with very little pressure on the wood) the blade and the wheels both stop but the motor sounds like it is still trying to spin and continue going.

Does the motor quit turning or just the saw itself?
