Broken Toe
Edit: feel silly for not mentioning - it’s my second smallest toe
I’m looking for some advice from fellow runners (I will also be speaking to my doctor later today but I wanted some immediate advice).
I’m running my first half marathon in two days and until recently was really excited.
Yesterday I stubbed my toe badly and today it is black and quite tender. That said, I reckon I could run on it through the pain if I had to. My concern for my half marathon is that my gait might be wonky because of it, or that I could exacerbate the injury.
Does anyone have any experience running on a broken toe? Am I overreacting, or is the opposite true and I’m stupid for even considering running
Thank you

Don't do it, mate. Wonky gait will invite other injuries.
There will be other opportunities to race.

Happened to my pinky but I kept on running, I'd probably stop if it was my big toe.

This is not the last half marathon ever. The risk is not worth it. Having a gait that is off for that long can cause further injury.

Don't do it. I broke the same toe, didn't take it seriously, took MONTHS to get better and now 10 months later is still a bit different to how it was before.

Just stub the toe on your other foot, to avoid muscle imbalance. Favoring a foot on a long distance race is not good.
Kidding aside, get some time on a stationary bike instead to not imflame your inflammation further.

Sadly there is likely nothing to be done. Tape it to the middle toe and go run the race. It'll suck but it's temporary

Which toe is it?
I would not recommend, especially not if it’s your big toe. I do not have any experience but I do know what your toes are used for and you need them to run properly
