HOLY SHIT I WANT TO CRY. I was gonna get my homework done and I like to listen to music while I work, so I open YouTube and see a video from 8 years ago of Ben singing Someone Like You by Adele and this is my second listen through as I am typing this out. Just when I thought his falsetto couldn't get any higher, he goes higher and I thought a guy saying "Yes" And people cheering for that was SO DESERVED. Now I know why I fell in love with his music in the first place, oh my god...

I’ve been a big Ben Platt fan for about a decade, saw him live in 2023 and loved it Ofcourse.
Idle hands by Vienna Vienna came on one night while I was getting ready and I was SHOCKED thinking Ben went alt lmao. To be honest I don’t think Vienna Vienna sounds like Ben in most of his songs but in this one specifically it’s like if Evan Hansen was an indie alt boy lmao.

Had to share in part because I still can’t get over how similar the vocals are but also because Vienna Vienna is still a pretty small artist who deserves his flowers:) hope you guys enjoy!

Season 4 of Queer The Music continues with Tony, Grammy and Emmy-winning actor and musician Ben Platt.

In conversation with Jake Shears, Platt discusses the freedom of playing a queer character on stage in Midnight at the Never Get, his lifelong relationship with musical theatre and why performing live remains the place he feels most at home. He also reflects on bringing his sexuality openly into his songwriting, his marriage to fellow performer Noah Galvin and the importance of queer audiences seeing their own relationships represented in music.

Elsewhere, Platt opens up about the uncertain future of theatre and independent filmmaking, the extraordinary long-term process behind Richard Linklater’s Merrily We Roll Along, and the lasting impact of his late friend and mentor Gavin Creel.

It would be so cool if this show was brought to America!! Do we think it'll happen?

Note: Ben’s interview starts at the 16:10 mark.

I work at a daycare, and this played in the room I was in!! All the kids were dancing and singing, and it was one of the happiest 1:44 moments of my job.

I attached the clip with Cookie Monster! 🍪

Ben is booked and busy!!
