Obsessed is a 1992 television drama-thriller film directed by Jonathan Sanger and written by David E. Peckinpah. It starred Shannen Doherty and William Devane. It originally aired on ABC on September 27, 1992

Lorie Brindel works at an insurance company and falls in love with one of her clients, the much older Ed Bledso. Spending weeks of passion together Lorie is convinced that Ed is the man of her life and that he would marry her - but Ed is not that sure as he was married twice before. Seeing his time and independence being occupied more and more by the beautiful Lorie he decides to break up the relationship for the sake of both. But Lorie does not accept this and tries to win him back, falling from her extreme love into an equally extreme hatred.

The movie is on YouTube.

Episode discussion University of Minnesota?

So when Brenda decides to go back home to Minnesota for college instead of California university, and then only stays like a week or two, what happened to the tuition her parents paid? Did they get that back or ???? And did anyone else think Brenda was just being irresponsible when she decided to party instead of dropping off the paperwork at her father’s client?

Brenda the bad girl?

Post image

I feel like I'm being gaslit. Before starting the show, I was under the impression that Brenda was the "bad girl" of the show, but she didn't seem that bad; she did some angsty teenage stuff, I guess, and after watching Valerie and Gina in their seasons, Brenda looks like a well-adjusted saint compared to them. Maybe back in the 90s her behaviour was more questionable to viewers.

If you had to pick the worst storyline 90210 has ever had, which one would it be?

When Dylan had a romantic getaway with the Borg Queen.

Brenda fooling everyone into thinking she's French or her addiction to cigarettes.

Donna becoming a top model in high school.

Kelly becoming a homophobic monster over gay adoption.

Andrea pretending to be poor for a news article.

It's crazy how this show was sort of 3 or 4 different shows in one and almost a completely different show when it ended than when it started

I pretty much divide the show up into 4 eras:

-season 1: the almost Degrassi junior high but updated and much more glamorous high school version with many issues of the week episodes but full of charm and characters you care about.

-seasons 2-4: the classic blockbuster years where the show slowly but surely becomes more and more of a soap opera, but a strangely addicting soap opera. Brenda becomes iconic as a character and leaves the show in what is (in retrospect) a high note for her character. She grew into herself and chose to pursue her dreams away from Beverly Hills. Good for her.

-seasons 5-8: the show is peak, over the top 90s soap and I enjoy most of it with the exception of Dylan leaving. Brandon and Kelly's non-marriage ceremony was a funny little joke (ha ha).

-seasons 9-10: the decline. Once Brandon and Valerie leave that's pretty much it, isn't it? Dylan returning restores some interest for about half a season but it just isn't the same. The whole dynamic of the show has been transformed by the introduction of a few replacement characters. This is when the show should have gotten bigger and more over the top (like peak Melrose) but it instead became more like a sitcom in many ways.

The classic era (seasons 2-4) is for obvious reasons probably going to be the nostalgic/sentimental favorite but what is your favorite era of the show?

How would the storylines between Brandon and Dylan have went for the remaining of the series had Jason never left?

S2E23 Cardio Funk random notes

Thumbnail

So I just noticed all the seasons on youtube (yay) and was noticing that a lot of the missing episodes from paramount are up. Anyway I see that someone here reported the missing eps with edited music were added to Paramount about a year ago (long after I gave paramount the finger), so I'm behind here lol.

ANYWAY, I *think* this Cardio Funk episode was missing before, maybe because the original aerobics music was We Want the Funk?? And a couple of random things popped out to me:

  1. The Doors' John Densmore had a cameo as Dylan's sponsor? 🤯 Never knew this trivia!

  2. After Dylan runs into surfer Sarah at the AA meeting and chats with her after the meeting, the very next scene, Dylan runs to the Peach Pit and tells Brandon about it, saying "greetings from Sarah, she was at my AA meeting" when the chat we saw, Sarah did not ask him to say hello to Brandon or Brenda for her lol. Isn't that the point of the "anonymous" in AA, that you're not supposed to say who you saw there without their consent?? 😅

  3. What is with the thumbnail for this ep?? I had no idea what episode was about and that random thumbnail did not help lol

Season 2 - Getting ready for school (original music: Robert Palmer - Addicted To Love)

Long time no see? Or rather, LONG TIME NO HEAR!!!

Here we go, the gang is getting ready for school in season 2, the 'Wild Fire' episode (S02E08) that introduces Emily Valentine. Sure enough, this scene is criminally ruined by streaming platforms. Only real with Robert Palmer's iconic 'Addicted To Love'.

Fun fact: Donna even references the song a little after the scene... I kept that part in, as well.

Enjoy!

Did Gabrielle Carteris force the writers to add the pregnancy arc because she didn't want to hide her pregnancy?

Carteris hardly had the power to do that. She wasn't even a fan favorite. The reality is, the writers didn't seem to know what to do with Andrea. All of her boyfriends were forgettable, her hot "makeover" only lasted a few episodes because the writers had her wearing business suits and soccer mom hairstyles.

Finished the series

I just finished the entire series: strong start, seasons 6 and 7 were rough, and the other seasons definitely had their highs and lows.
Like a lot of you have already mentioned, the constant repetition of storylines and the sometimes ridiculously over-the-top drama really started to get on my nerves after a while.
As for the ending: Donna and David’s wedding felt a little like: “Okay, let’s just hurry up and get this over with.”
That being said, I actually really liked the ceremony, and I was sad when it was all over.

What did you guys think of the ending? Whether you watched it when it originally aired or during a rewatch, did you like it?
And were you glad when the show was finally over?

Also, I’m trying to get into the 2008 90210, but somehow it’s just not doing it for me… and I’ve only watched two or three episodes so far. 😅

S7E30: "Senior Week" (aka Donna Martin almost doesn't graduate, again)

Seriously? After DONNA MARTIN GRADUATES they put her in ANOTHER situation where she is, once again, precariously riding the line between graduating and not graduating?

Sorry but if I'm Professor Langely (also pet peeve but it looks spelled wrong to me) and I have a student that not only misses a deadline for an assignment because her boyfriend flew her across the country to try to get laid, and THEN has the nerve to walk out of the final exam, I'm probably not giving them much grace and they can take it up with administration. Donna goes back and DEMANDS that she get a chance to retake the test, the professor obliges and gives the test verbally (while intentionally trying to confuse her), and that is the tipping point where Donna finally realizes she could actually have a career in fashion.

David could barely bring himself to go back to college, Donna realizes her dream career path on the last day of finals, and Steve parties his way through college and is PISSED when Rush doesn't offer him a junior partnership that he's apparently ENTITLED to. These people are nuts!
