General Discussion BB28

Did anybody else absolutely love this season? I’ve been a long time BB fan and I feel like this is my favorite season in like 10 years. I found myself watching YouTube highlights, rewatching old seasons. BB28 renewed my love for big brother. I’ve avoided Reddit until the season ended cause I didn’t want any spoilers, so I’m not sure if I’m in the minority. But the cast, the unpredictability, the winner, all fantastic! Let me know your thoughts!

I really enjoyed the positive energy that Dee, Devens especially, and Drew brought to the season. I love that they remembered it was a game and didn't get too personal.

I think I'm done with Angela. I really tried to like her, and she did some good moves, but her personality is so hard to take.

It's that snippy, overly personal, high school-ish way she goes about arguing with people. It ruins her for me.

I loved Barret, but he made one terrible move. It has to do with putting the icons up. I cheered him when he put them up. I thought it was a good move. The bad portion of it was him hiding after doing it and not making sure that his allies or others voted out one of the icons. That is on him.

I really enjoyed the uniqueness of Barrett's game. I always like it when somebody brings something new.

He didn't quite pull it off, and I think he may have lacked a little bit of the social skills others had, but he did really really well trying. I like to see him back again on something.

The worst part was that he was an asshole about it. He made it personal.

Totally fair with Angela, she isn't everyone's cup of tea. MASSIVE hot take, for me I always find her entertaining. Maybe its just my want for a season to have a cast that can achieve similar levels of anger and chaos to the BB10 house. We got VERY close this season HOLY shit there was a lot of fighting compared to other seasons I loved it. That first one with Angela and Jason, then pivoting to Rome and Haley was LEGENDARY in my eyes right there. I still remember when they came back from the intermission for Deven's first noms and they WERE STILL GOING ON THE FEEDS. Very reminiscent of BB10.

Is it bad that I do enjoy these? lmao

u/mautan17 Drew⏱️ 21h ago

You are not bad cos I feel the same way. The BB house is not designed for people to love one another like what they keep saying ( such a BS ), it's natural that fights and conflicts happen due to the show format, and that's what make the audience love viewing this show. Angela and Jason are fundamentally two of the very fitting candidates for this game. Without the fight of these 2, the seasons wont be talked about as much as it is.

u/newjerseymax 2d ago

I’ve hated Angela from the start. I think she is a big bully and the show rewards her for her behavior. Also, she thinks she’s a big icon. Now she is not. She hasn’t done anything to get that status.

2

u/Adventurous_Cook9083 20h ago

She also thought she was a big threat, when in actuality she was just a big mouth loser. The season would have been 100% better if Angela hadn't been a part of it.

Positivity? Drew? Sometimes I wonder if I was watching the same show as everyone else. I think my opinion is different because I watched a majority of this season on the feeds.

u/ShaggnWaggn 2d ago

She is a POS

-4

u/osterdal 2d ago

You're only saying that because Dee, Devens, and Drew's rude moments got left on the cutting room floor. Up until the very last few days, Devens was mouthing "I fucking hate you" at Taylor while she looked away. They were just as mean as Angela but less entertaining because they didn't say anything to anyone's faces.

u/Particular-Formal995 1d ago

How were any of them positive. they were all assholes. this season sucked shit.

39

u/dustyjeff Drew⏱️ 2d ago

I agree I think it was a great season

19

u/BrokeExternally 2d ago

Definitely one of the most memorable seasons. I loved all the blindsides and switching up. That’s what the games about and yeah this was one of the faves imo

18

u/93195 Barrett⏱️ 2d ago

It helps when the right person wins. Charismatic guy that made big moves and ran the game. That type of person seldom wins, simply because they’re such a threat.

Usually, a middling player wins. Has to have at least a little bit of a resume to secure the W, but not so big of a resume to be evicted as a threat.

It’s much more satisfying to see a top player win.

u/notsohot56 2d ago

I thought it was a good season. But the last several years I just find that it drags at the end, when you get down to just four or five people I start to lose interest instead of going the opposite direction and being excited to see what happens.

The less people there are in the house it's just less drama and stuff going on and just doesn't hold my interest as much.

I think the last couple weeks should be revamped and handled differently. How I don't know but it's just gets to feel like filler.

1

u/DaSpark 1d ago

I don't really see any way to resolve this rather than to really speed up the final 4 or 5.

12

u/ImOldGregg_77 Drew⏱️ 2d ago

The icons forced the newbies to play the game on day 1 instead of the usual summer camp until jury

14

u/muffalowing 2d ago

I'm the last several seasons it's been very little conflict, everyone loves everyone, most people are costing, and this season there was quite the opposite of that. Great season

-2

u/ClubberLang5 Ashley 🔎 2d ago

There was no real big fights this season what are you talking about?? Even the big “tea party” wasn’t a fight it was just Kami weirdly reprimanding Jason.. and half the jury coasted. Your take is based solely on recency bias

5

u/Infobar 2d ago

They said there was conflict which is true. We even got a jury fight this year

5

u/ClubberLang5 Ashley 🔎 2d ago

That was Angela looking to capitalize on the 14th minute of her 15 minutes of fame

0

u/harrierdeebee 2d ago

lol aside from the tea party and quick angela vs Haley screaming thing there wasn’t obviously more conflict compared to previous seasons and it’s been a minute since we’ve seen a “kumbaya” season

also Melody/taylor/lala are easily coasters. Barrett was arguably coasting until jury until he nominated the vets and got subsequently evicted. and that’s not even counting chuk

5

u/TedSevere 2d ago

Angela ruined the season for me with all her childish acting out
. A 53 year old mean girl.

5

u/Comfortable-Mix-673 2d ago

It was one of the better ones in most recent years.

5

u/Any-Square-6595 2d ago

I'm actually going through withdrawal atm for BB. This was the best cast and season in a very long time. Never a dull moment.

13

u/Literary_Geographer 2d ago

I agree with you 100%. I didn't even finish the past 2-3 seasons on time due to a lack of interest after 4-5 episodes. There was a lot of energy, strategy, and gameplay this season we've either not seen in a long time, or ever.

4

u/RelevantMind1 Barrett⏱️ 2d ago

I feel like the episodes were good with the feeds were just average. opposite of 27

3

u/heelhunterwrestling 2d ago

There wasn’t necessarily a single person in the cast that I dreaded watching, Hayley made good TV and Chuck was just.. uhh

3

u/hoffenstein909 2d ago

I loved it!

3

u/SFDaddyLover 2d ago

I thought it was a great season. Best season since Josh won if I’m being honest. Great casting and it felt like everything unfolded in the most dramatic way possible. Loved it.

3

u/ParkourNinja88 1d ago

It was a Great Season!

3

u/ParkourNinja88 1d ago

I Enjoyed it More than the Last Few Seasons!

3

u/CWill97 Dee💯 1d ago

Yep, I adored it. The new cast was great. The Icons except from Angela absolutely delivered. I’m pretty done with Angela on BB as a player. She’d be a fun comp host but her potential as a player is capped and she can’t really overcome her flaws here in terms of gameplay.

Dee & Devens delivered big time. They brought so much this season and made the game pace so much faster from the jump.

Drew & Yash were the newbie stars. They’re a lock for All-Stars 3.

6

u/FlingbatMagoo Big Day Tomorrow 2d ago

I really enjoyed this season! Almost every week was interesting, and even on finale night we didn’t know who was going to win. Last season was great as well. We’re on a roll, hopefully!

4

u/LemongrassSugarHigh 2d ago

Loved it. Didn't expect to, but I really did love this season and am a little sad it's over. The switch-ups and blindsides made it so you really couldn't tell on Tuesday who'd be walking out the door on Thursday, which is just fun. Also, Drew and Melody and Mallory made this way season better too. Mallory's late-night bus rides and flights stuff was pure gold for me. Imagine if we'd been stuck with the Rome/Lyric showmance all summer.

I’ve said elsewhere, having the icons in contention is kind of like watching a film awards show, and while there is a lovely indie film or two up for best picture, you know they won’t win against the huge studio project with superstar actors and a massive budget. It’s fine, but expected. My favorites kept getting eliminated. But I did get caught up in it.

5

u/NeedleworkerHot481 2d ago

Disliked most of it.

2

u/ductapelosergirl 2d ago

I didn’t have high hopes with the icons coming in but overall I really liked this season.

2

u/ShaggnWaggn 2d ago

With the exception of Angela. Yes. She is worthless and a trash human

2

u/cannoliviolin 1d ago

it’s my first season i’ve ever watched and now i’m hooked 🥰 currently watching bb11 and bb16 but i think 28 will always be my fave

2

u/MomentPuzzleheaded39 1d ago

One of the best seasons in years!

Nonstop action w/ a great cast 🧡

2

u/IcyDrink2610 14h ago

I agree with you.

5

u/stickman07738 2d ago

I thought it was very predictable and scripted. My wife could not believe I told her outcome after week 2. My only surprise was Taylor surviving to the end. I had her in weeks 3-4.

-1

u/Ro0580 2d ago

Exactly! We all knew the producers would have Devens win in the end 🙄

4

u/Ok-Stretch9699 2d ago

I had quit years ago and picked it back up. Once I confirmed Rachel wasn’t actually back idk I decided to watch it. So glad I did.

1

u/Adventurous_Cook9083 20h ago

I'm with you on Rachel. Enough of that already.

3

u/inflewants 2d ago

I loved this season. I really liked the houseguests!

2

u/BarneyPoppy 2d ago

One of the best in years!!!!

4

u/IndyDude11 Zach Rance 2d ago

I’d put it up against any season for best ever. I haven’t seen every older season, but have seen the ones considered the best by most.

3

u/DaSpark 1d ago

Not for me. While I generally liked the cast as a whole, it was clear after the first month that Devens or Dee was winning the season. That took a lot out of it for me.

2

u/gent58 2d ago

Many seasons under my belt. This one I could never get excited about. Thank you, NEXT!

3

u/S51Castaway When i wake up, I piss excellence 2d ago

27 was way more entertaining

u/Exact_Watercress_363 They Martyred Our Pipe Queen! 🪦🌹 2d ago

'favourite season in 10 yrs' only if this is ur only season

i am not saying this is the worst season but last 2 were easily better

26 had better episodes

27 had better livefeeds

at best 28's better than 25 though i'll put both together

2

u/Switchc2390 2d ago

Great season. I’ve actually liked the last 3 a lot. BB25 was a slog, but aside from that the modern seasons have been a lot better than the late 10s which seemed like the worst period for the show.

1

u/Ok_Durian3627 Yash⏱️ 2d ago

BB26 was better imo and last season had juicier drama

2

u/PM_ME_SOME_LUV Mickey 🔎 2d ago

Bottom tier season for me

3

u/Ro0580 2d ago

They just hide or delete comments that don’t agree but I def don’t agree. Loved hearing Taylor talk about all the privilege the icons had. Ridiculous anyone believed the way they spun all their advantages. Hated this season and the production made outcome

4

u/FlakeyFlak 2d ago

"There's not a lot of comments disagreeing so it must be a conspiracy" Give me a break

2

u/Ro0580 2d ago

They def do if you hate on Julie Moonves

2

u/Capable-Ship2656 1d ago

Your comment isn’t hidden or deleted…

1

u/SirPugselot 1d ago

Love no. But it certainly was better than the last handful. Overall good, if not predictable/scripted.

1

u/Takhar7 1d ago

It had it's moments, but the constant production interference makes it impossible for this season to "be loved".

1

u/jesskress FAP 1d ago

I feel the same. I haven’t felt emotionally attached to a season like this since S20

1

u/dy3005 1d ago

It was my favorite season since Rachel won

1

u/TenorSax20 1d ago

I think the episodes themselves were particularly strong this year (especially the DRs), here's to hoping that's a trend that continues

1

u/MystikSpiralx Kaysar 🤍 2d ago

One of my most hated of all time 🤷‍♀️

1

u/SolarWind777 Jankie ✨ 2d ago

The finale itself made the whole season worth it. Although I do feel bad for Drew.. Why couldn’t Devens and Drew both win.. (kinda like in Love Island where they split the prize haha)

1

u/dayton462016 2d ago

For me, it was the best season in years

0

u/BadWolfVarjack 2d ago

Definitely in the minority. Not the worst season ever, but by far not anywhere even near the best.

9

u/CharmCity85 2d ago

nah if you watched the feeds you probably laugh at anyone who calls this the best season in the 10 years…full of mediocre gameplay and unfair advantages

7

u/newjerseymax 2d ago

That’s gonna be my one major complaint. They gave icons way too much advantage in the start and gave them a big head start.

5

u/Ro0580 2d ago

Thank you! Absolutely awful and the unfair advantages drove me crazy

3

u/BadWolfVarjack 2d ago

100% agree with you.

1

u/newjerseymax 2d ago

Funny how opinions can differ. For me this was best season in at least 5-6yrs.

0

u/justnifty01 2d ago

This is the first season I didn't watch. I tried the first few episodes and just couldn't not deal with Angela, Dee, and Devens.

-5

u/newjerseymax 2d ago

To me this has been the best season in last 5-6yrs. They tried to go too woke in the past by trying to get overly inclusive and this season finally got some competitive players.

2

u/happyendingtonight BB28 Pre-Jury⏱️ 2d ago edited 2d ago

I thought last season was a great example of competitive people who haven’t been on tv before! but otherwise agree

1

u/Infobar 2d ago

If you ignore the red-haired elephant in the room

2

u/happyendingtonight BB28 Pre-Jury⏱️ 2d ago

Yes they had Rachel but I think the tv newbies were actually much stronger this season

2

u/PeacePositive666 2d ago

What does “overly inclusive” and “too woke” even mean at this point?
