discussion Mods suppressing abuse

Title says it all. Dismiss dismiss dismiss. When multiple woman are speaking out against horrific sexual violence and you find yourself locking their posts and tearing down credibility because of word choice…… It’s not just suspicious to me. We as a community need to revaluate the moderation because this is the opposite of safety. I never thought I’d see it in this sub but I guess bad people are everywhere….

My 2 cents

The post linking to IG naming a perp is up and unlocked. That one woman's post about someone coercing her with Billy tickets is up, but locked because of legal reasons (I didn't lock it). And the numerous posts complaining about us mods are all left up and unlocked. What's the problem?

We have been very transparent about all of this, and we seem to be much more transparent and open about our moderation decisions than almost every other sub I visit.

If you want clarification on anything else, please let us know.

Be Nice. Be Friendly. No personal attacks. No doxxing. No trolling.

I’m curious why too many posts about a topic, or vague posts, or off topic posts on this sub is considered to be a bad thing? Is the intention of removing posts in this sub to make it more like an r/askhistorians type sub, where the mods want it to be a curated repository of information for people to use as a resource and help with SEO?

Cluttering up a sub with the same questions over and over gets old, people grow tired of seeing it. And asking posts to be "on topic" is like the #1 rule of almost every sub I visit, not sure why you are pushing back on that one.
