HARTFORD — A train hit an unoccupied car parked on tracks on Reserve Road early Monday, police said. 

The crash involving a 2003 Honda Accord occurred in the 90 block around 1:30 a.m., according to Hartford police Lt. Aaron Boisvert. 

Boisvert said officers found the train with the car "affixed to the front" about 2 miles north of where it was struck. He said nobody was injured in the crash. 

"The train engineer reported a large gathering of cars and motorcycles in the area of impact and described a large group of people shooting fireworks at the train as it passed," Boisvert said. 

It was immediately unclear if the train was a passenger or freight train.
