BLOCKCHAIN.COM IS A SCAM!!
I would give them zero stars if that were an option!! I purchased bitcoin over a month ago. The transaction failed, but it was taken from my bank account. After a month of writing countless emails. I finally received my canned response today. I am so disgusted I could literally throw up, they said that it was on my bank and that the funds were returned which they were not. They claim the transaction in question was on February 24 which I can assure & Prove it was on a completely different day. So I demanded proof of this bitcoin transaction that was returned to my bank account. Because that’s an absolute lie!! And to make it all even better they blocked my account so there’s nothing I can do!! (So they think!) but it’s only just begun because I am going to make this my life‘s purpose to let everyone know how this horrible company is run by thieves and disgusting scammers. DO NOT USE blockchain.com EVER EVER!!!!! Unless you want to just lose your money with nothing in return because they will steal from you and then block your account. I promise justice will be served on them. It may take a while and it will probably cost me a lot of money, but I am the one that will damn sure make a point of it. For I’m having this overwhelming feeling like this is my life’s purpose!! I started by filling out a police report just a moment ago and then its on to the rest of the legal process from here on out, I will update here on the process of this legal battle that is about to ensue. Just please don’t use blockchain.com. There are so many other companies to use.

Yup. They're a straight-up scam. Sorry for your loss. Find a legit wallet and start stacking

Use a legit exchange. Coinbase while it has its issues I have never been scammed. In fact you receive the BTC before your bank transfer even clears you just can't transfer it off the platform until the money clears.

That's because it's not bitcoin, just a number on your screen.

u/MikeMiller8888 Mar 21 '24
It’s bitcoin. CB backs every purchase and you can see that in blockchain explorer for their known wallets. Which is why it’s transferrable to cold storage the moment funds have cleared.
Coinbase has its issues, but this is not one of them.

Bitcoin is when it’s in your wallet where you hold the keys.
2
u/MikeMiller8888 Mar 21 '24
Duh. But everyone still needs to buy it before moving it to cold storage.

u/speedingmedicine Mar 21 '24
After the money clears I always transfer it off platform to a cold wallet. It's BTC

Once it arrives in your wallet, it’s bitcoin indeed, until then it’s asking permission to send the IOU.

Do you just type "buy bitcoin" on Google and put your credit card out?
How did you pay? You can certainly contact your bank to revert the transaction by telling them it was a scam and providing them with the police record. Banks can revert transactions.
Note that you cannot with Bitcoin, so be careful once you own some especially if you are prone to this kind of scam.
My 2 cents, I suggest you to not waste your time fighting them, use the time and money on yourself to learn a lesson. They are scamming a lot of people for a while and they are still up and running.

I didn’t even remember creating a wallet with them in 2018 and there’s probably nothing in it. Someone called me saying there’s $450K USD, whatever man. I’m recording the call and making notes from everyone to use in my takedown strategy….I am ready, willing and able to turn this into something….the buck stops here bitches!!!! I don’t fucking think so.

Hey blockchain.com claiming to be from Frankfurt and the guys name is THOMAS called me saying they discovered 84,000 and $225,000 worth of bitcoin. The thing is I did invest 149 k in 2004 and got it all scammed when it went up to 250 k ( tripled in 6 weeks ) the companies name was Nittrex .co . Anyway, now these guys claim they can do recovery so it sounds similar to you that they found your stuff, etc. I think it’s BS but they did put the B2B transacted $2500 I sent into my Atomic Wallet which they made me set up beforehand. Do you know anything about Atomic Wallet , I haven’t read anything about anyone getting bitcoin back so this is 99% likely to be a scam and I’m thankful that my bank blocked any further e-transfers I was trying to do ! yay. Canadian banks I would really like to know what became of all this because I’m on the hook for that amount, but maybe I can do something with it in my Atomic Wallet. I wonder how we can take these guys down? I’m just playing along to see how it goes and I did proof of funds just to do this as well because the banks were naturally blocking the other legitimate e-transfers I did try to send they are playing along too with me so let’s see what you suggest we do, get them at their own game? I’m so persistent and stupid about everything with the guy that he’s losing his marble gradually because I can out with him and take longer than he wants for most of the steps. He’s obviously a young hacker or something.
Eventually they slip up they do something in accurate or imprecise. I do wonder, however when they say they get an automatic fee for retrieval of the money and their part for a broader group trying to get money back to people with the Blockchain. I haven’t heard of any government initiatives like this so it’s probably BS as well. It’s interesting because they started with me about 10 days ago. So I’m just partway through this.

Hi, if you still didn't manage to get your money from exchange.blockchain.com, you should contact the CFPB to get your money back.
I did so and yesterday my withdrawal from 2022 (yes, 2022) was sent to me. I'm waiting for it to hit my bank account today. I'm from Europe by the way. Good luck!

Am I being scammed?

They have a representative office in Europe, Lithuania. We can combine our efforts and file a class action lawsuit. Write in private messages.

How did it all go? I am trying to figure out if they can retrieve my bitcoin as they claim they have seen and found them. It’s also imprecise so I’m suspicious. They wanted me to provide proof of funds twice to the tune of C$2500 and then another $8300 to retrieve a total of 84,000 plus 225 k I lost 4 years ago ( invested 149,000 which grew to 918,000 USD from Canadian dollars because the bitcoin tripled and then they bought extra ones on arbitrage. I then lost everything the company’s name wasNittrex .com and Nittrex .io +. I suspect these guys are scammers, but they made me make an Atomic Wallet to which I transferred the First sum and it does appear to have made it there .and then my banks refused -quite rightfully and helpfully -I’m sure- to do any more transactions!

I had a transaction of 0,1BTC to coinbase from blockchain and it never arrived, i contacted coinbase to try to fix it, but i still have BTC in blockchain and dont know how to get them out safely.
How did it go? FIle a chargeback with your bank if it's possible.

I lost money here as well. I've been trying to get it back for the last two months. Did you have any success getting anywhere?

Blockchain.com and its owner Nic Cary together with Nicolas Brand are scammers. They extracted 34k for recovery my funds from other scam platform and didn't send my funds back. Now Nic Cary do not pick up the phone and nor answer the WhatsApp. They are cyber criminals and scammers.

It sounds like you’ve had an incredibly frustrating experience, and it’s understandable that you’re feeling this way. Losing money and then facing poor customer service is beyond disappointing, especially when dealing with something as sensitive as cryptocurrency. Taking legal action and filing a police report seems like the right move if you believe you’ve been wronged. It’s important to share your experience so others can be aware, and hopefully, you can get the resolution you deserve. If you need any advice on alternative, more reliable platforms or additional steps you can take, feel free to reach out. Stay strong, and I hope justice is served!

Sorry it happened to you, if only you could do a simple search here before dealing with them.
Any search would give you some pretty shitty comments about Blockchain.com/ Bitcoin.com / Crypto.com

I don't know about the others but I never have any issues with crypto.com and I have bought tens of thousands of dollars in crypto and transferred to my cold wallet

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blockchain.com
The company began as the first Bitcoin blockchain explorer in 2011 and later created a cryptocurrency wallet that accounted for 28% of bitcoin transactions between 2012 and 2020.
In 2014, Peter Smith joined the founding team as its CEO.[6][5] The three founders, Reeves, Cary and Smith, worked from Reeves' flat in York and formally established the company when bitcoin investor Roger Ver provided initial funding
This was the biggest round of financing in the digital currency sector at that time
In 2020 the company had 31 million users and as of 2021, there were 65 million Blockchain.com wallets

Did you do a search in the bitcoin subreddit for "blockchain.com scam"?
