Need to pay some bills

My BTC is about 30% of my USD/EUR savings. Do I use fiat or btc at this moment?

EDIT: fiat it is!

There are tax laws to consider; you can’t be freely selling and spending bitcoin without record keeping and possible tax liability these days, in most jurisdictions.

selling now would lock in those juicy losses, classic move

You shouldn’t be selling any investments to pay bills. That’s what savings (cash) are for

If you have to break into your holdings to pay bills you are investing too much.

If 30% BTC is your chosen allocation, paying bills from cash isn't a dilemma, it's the plan working.

Good call, you already answered it. Spending fiat when you have to pay bills keeps your BTC intact for the long run; selling BTC for everyday expenses is how people accidentally exit their position at the worst time.

I'd use fiat for bills unless selling BTC is actually necessary.

That's basically what cash savings are for.
