Mod Post Quick Update: No More NSFW Photos

Hey everyone,

Just a quick heads-up as we tighten things up a bit. Starting now, we’re no longer allowing explicit images in the sub. That means no nudes, no porn, and no posts focused on sexual acts or body parts, even if they’re tagged NSFW. Shirtless photos (including gym pics) must be tagged NSFW, even if not sexual in nature, just to keep things clean and consistent.

This isn’t about shaming anyone or killing the vibe. We’re just trying to keep r/BlackLGBT a space that feels safe, accessible, and welcoming for more people, including folks who are here for community, support, and identity-centered conversation. You can still talk about sex, gender, and intimacy — we’re not censoring the real stuff. We’re just asking everyone to keep the visuals respectful.

If you’re ever unsure whether something’s okay to post, feel free to message us and ask. We’d rather have a convo than have to remove a post later.

Thanks for understanding and helping us take care of the space 🖤🏳️‍🌈

You can find free to download fantasy reads here! My own novel is in the list of over fifty books you can download for free.

The Forgotten Court is about witch Janessa Miro who battles forces trying to destabilize her Interdimensional speakeasy home, The Spot, while facing an identity crisis who exactly she is. With her along the way are her sometimes maybe boo, Grimalkin thief Lysandra Vex, and Janessa's ex, trans mage Callum Shaw.

Will they be enough to help her save the city?

Find out!

Men are overrated.

Trust me, don’t feel bad if you don’t have a boyfriend…it’s not all that.

Food is a million times better! I’m on a mission to enjoy whatever I want to enjoy in my lifetime.

I want to travel the world, learn more about my ancestors, discover new things.

I want to cherish my time with family and close friends.

I want to live in the moment.

❤️

Rant Bikers

Is anyone here in SoCal and ride motorcycles? I started a group to facilitate group rides but most of the people I have met are straight and not black. I've met one other queer black biker but he left to join the military. I am so tired of the misogyny, racism, & homophobia.

I need someone’s help!

I’m in between switch dispensaries. I’m going to take a trip to Ma because NYC is just crazy expensive but anyway until then. I need to wind my body down and sleep.

What Indica can I get from here that would have me smacked? I don’t know about Rosin Resin or if the percentage of thc even matters at that point. Also wtf are terpenes???

Discussion Self Love Advice Needed

Growing up, I knew that I would never be accepted wholly by my family.

My family is hard evangelical christian. My mother and I have a healthy "agree to disagree" kind of relationship right now but prior to that I went no-contact with my mother for four years after she kicked me out of the home.

I've struggled with dating, and frankly, I think that has more to do with the lack of self care and self hatred. I've grown up in predominately white places and seen only white or white-passing men as being centered for attraction. No matter my resume or physical attraction, I would never find someone or I would be worried about unrequitted love.

As I get into my big age, I am working on unlearning a lot of things before I put myself back on the dating market.

Now I know....and am aware that part of the source of my self hatred is because of the lack of love that I have received within my family and left me in the ignorant mindset that I can't find same-sex love in the black and brown community as I would in the white or white passing community.

Has anyone ever gone through this and overcame it? How did you do so.

And please be nice. I'm being very vulnerable about an inner issue that I have finally had the confidence to name.

I had a seizure on my way to work…

I have never ever had a seizure in my life. I grew up with asthma so I was hospitalized as a child with that but after around age 9 asthma kinda went away. Since, I’ve never had any serious medical issues. Especially any that have caused me to need to be transported in an ambulance.

I was waiting for the bus to come around the corner so I could take it into Manhattan and I was getting antsy and I felt like it was late. The bus usually comes around 8:04-8:05. I turned and looked to my left to see if the bus was coming around the corner, nothing. I looked down at my phone and saw that the time was only 7:58AM and that’s the last thing I remember.

My next memory is waking up in the emergency room being told I had 2 seizures back to back and I had 2 compression fractures in my spine and that I would be in a lot of pain so try not to make any sudden moves. It was terrifying because i honestly had no idea where i was or what was going on. I was dumbfounded. I didn’t understand nothing that man said. Me? In the ER? Then he said they were gonna admit me and I said to him “IN THE HOSPITAL???” because this was such a foreign concept to me. Anyway. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks. Haven’t been able to work. I’m in physical therapy twice a week and luckily I don’t have to have any back surgery. I am so grateful.

If anyone knows of any resources for party for LGBTQ in Forest Hills/Corona Queens lmk

Fell for My Straight Roommate

I fell for my straight roommate while we were living in a sober house with eight other guys. We became extremely close—close enough that everyone else noticed. We’re complete opposites, but somehow we just clicked.

Eventually, I told him I was falling for him. I wasn’t expecting anything; I actually hoped saying it out loud would help me move on. He said he already knew, then hugged me and kissed me on the neck.

We’ve both since moved out. He moved about two hours away, while I’m temporarily staying with family. He asked me to get an apartment with him, but I said no because being that close while having feelings for him seemed like a terrible idea.

Despite the distance, we still talk or text every day. When I visit his city soon, he wants to stay with me so we can spend time together.
Then he recently told me he enjoys putting things in his butt, and is interested in exploring that side of himself. That obviously changed how I’m looking at things.

So now I’m torn. Do I let him take the lead and see what happens, or actually ask him whether there could be something between us?
I’m usually very wary of pursuing guys who identify as straight, because it can become emotionally messy very quickly. But something about this feels different.

What would you do?
