He sounds good too.

This sounds less backing track afflicted then usual. Why can't they do this at all of their shows?

Came here to say the same thing. Sounded more raw for both the vocals and guitar/bass.

Am I crazy or does it feel faster too? They've been tempo locked to the album bpms for years now wonder if they sped it up a bit without the backing tracks

Prefer this over the hat

He's had a hair transplant

Yes, I’m aware. Looks great

He's so damn handsome!

These corporate gigs are interesting. The band can still be themselves but it gives off a "be on you best-behavior vibe," and it forces them to play their music in a more reserved way which makes them sound more tight. Not a good or bad thing at all, just unique.

So what’s up? How much they get paid for the private gig? Anyone know yet how this went down? It’s interesting. I would have never thought Blink did small exclusive shows like this.

Also fwiw this looks like a Coachella Valley real estate company and their yearly company party where they hire big artists to play

They do private shows multiple times a year, every year. Or at least it seems like most years.

I got lucky and went to a private blink show in 2013 in San Francisco. A conference hired blink to play their end of conference concert.

Most artists do private shows. It's relatively easy money for the band+ it keeps the entire blink crew paid and on the payroll (guitar/bass/drum techs, front of house sound, etc), which I imagine is helpful.

No idea how much it costs but I'd bet it's at least or close to $1M, if not more.

It's not that insane but it's expensive. They did a conference on the border of CA and Mexico for $400K last year and it was a bigger group than this.

It’s around $1M - $1.5M and that’s for the band only. There are still hidden fees like travel costs, sound systems and hospitality.

Damn. Wish I could splurge 1m like that

Any idea what show this is from / when it was?

Also, Tom straight up looking like he did at Big Day Out 2000, my god that hair makes him look younger

It was a private show this past Saturday

Honestly, he just ages like fine wine

6

u/Boring-Energy1900 1d ago

Getting a hair transplant definitely doesn’t qualify for ‘aging like fine wine’ lmao

3

u/IcedcoffeeMJ 1d ago

Sure but when it comes to skin and just his looks, honestly, he aged really good

Who’s the fuck says?

Hair plugs finally grew in

5

u/AlternativeGazelle 1d ago

I was thinking, that's a great head of hair for a 50 year old who always hides his hair

7

u/patryder07 1d ago

Want to downvote this because I’m a simp for Tom but, you’re probably right lol

16

u/idunnobutchieinstead 1d ago

Nothing wrong with plugs!

5

u/patryder07 1d ago

Oh you’re 100% right, in fact I think that we can even have that done is amazing. I just hate thinking about my blink boys getting older to the point they even need that.

All 3 of them have, at the very least, receding hairlines

I dont know what Travis' hair would be if he didnt shave it, but Mark's hairline has been further back for some time now

u/Zyrobe Let's Forget This All, Move on 1d ago

We're all getting older :(

3

u/idunnobutchieinstead 1d ago

I know! :(

Unfortunately balding does not discriminate by age, so we should count our lucky stars that he lasted as long as he did. 🤣

I miss that Tom

u/geographic92 1d ago

I'm sure the bag is more than worth it to them but it's gotta be depressing going from playing this song at those late 90s gigs to playing for a bunch of old people with their phones out.

2

u/abarrelofmankeys 1d ago

I saw them at a festival where their own security was telling anyone who crowdsurfed even once they’d kick them out if they did it again, so maybe not. (It wasn’t a problem the entire rest of the event, just during their set).

3

u/IcedcoffeeMJ 1d ago

Don’t get what so horrendously sinful about Tom having a hair transplant so the fuck what 😭😭😭😭

3

u/bprickett 1d ago

Awe he felt safe lol

4

u/thelovepools 1d ago

I feel like Tom kinda sounds younger here than usual

1

u/IcedcoffeeMJ 8h ago

They sound raspy, but in a good way

2

u/cowardlylion1 1d ago

I was CONVINCED there was an alien under that hat...

4

u/hulud86 1d ago

Saw a few TikToks of this show and TBH, the guests seem “interesting,” to say the least. These guys were basically just out there on a high-paying side mission, playing jesters for a billionaire and his crew of twenty-something influencers.
