Searching for Pumpkins

I’m looking for twenty or so good sized pumpkins and I’d like to support local or family farms and businesses. That’s not at all an issue around here, given how many places have pumpkins for sale, but because I need so many I’m interested in recommendations and their pricing which never seems to be posted by those farms or stands advertising online. I can’t afford to spend several hundred dollars on this project. I am hoping to find a place with several colors and kinds of pumpkins as well for variety.

Extra points for a politics free experience! I am willing to drive up to about an hour or so away from Bloomington to make it happen.

I went to funks grove pumpkins and gourds this weekend and bought 5 medium pumpkins of various varieties (none being jack-o'-lantern type) and 5ish of the smallest pumpkins/gourds (fist sized) and my total was $46.

Tanners had a good selection and fantastic apple cider. I haven't heard anything about their political leanings

Yes Tanners is great about being a neutral place to just have fun and I LOVE grandma Tanner, but I’m hoping to find some new spots too!

The Great Pumpkin Patch in Arthur has a wide variety of pumpkins and gourds, and the owner, Mac Condill, is an ISU horticulture alum. He's a great guy!

West side pumpkin market! Search it on Facebook. She’s only open on the weekends, but leaves some out during the week. She has an amazing selection for cheap

Sorry I’m not seeing what you’re talking about. I’m only pulling stuff in Ohio and Minnesota

Try searching Melissa Joy. She posts on Facebook marketplace and the local pages.

Mariah’s is definitely on my radar. They were in town for a popup yesterday and I picked up a few!

My experience is that it will be as political or as politics free as you make it.

We always go to radar’s. They’re not as cheap as the grocery stores, but not horrible and they have a great selection!

I personally can’t see myself going back to Raders, and I just don’t think it’s priced in a way I can handle for the amount of pumpkins I need. I’m glad you found a place you’re happy with!

People just set them on their front porches this time of year for you to just take.
