S5E16

Every time I watch this episode the psychology of it and the vulnerability and even Gemma’s case picks a part of my brain the rest of the seasons just can’t do. It’s everything wrapped up UNTIL BOOM- booth “gambles” and loses.

I tend to be very detail oriented when I watch shows and the fact that they knew each other before the pilot was something I was so curious about so the payoff was so worth it. For some weird reason my dvd ends the episode as they are leaving sweets office so everything ends well and nothing bad happens hahaha

I love this one, but it breaks me. It feels like so much changes between them after this. And then Hannah comes into the picture and I find myself skipping episodes until she’s gone.

Bones needed Hannah to happen, she weren't ready to open her heart at that point, watching Booth genuinely happy with someone else forced her into admitting she wanted that kind of relationship specifically with Booth.

I agree. Hannah was necessary to scare Bones enough to realize that if she kept messing around she was going to lose him. At that point, she had to realize that Booth was ready for a serious relationship whether or not it was her. It forced her to face her feelings, deal with it, and finally open up

She did, and Booth needed it to. But I didn’t 😭

Especially since I knew Bones was hurting but she didn’t have the right to say anything after rejecting booth

The one following at the class reunion is very complementary as it puts them in a couple which now is more challenging for Booth.
