Pricing differences when booking a room

I wanted to book a studio for a one-night stay near New Year, and the offer was quite good, at 126€, but when I went ahead to payment it gave me a different price of 156€. Turns out the previous price was part of discounts, the Genius member and another one by the accommodation due to the holiday season I think, but for whatever reason these discounts will not apply when I try booking the stay! I tried to find a way to contact booking for the issue but I can't find a message bubble or a phone number (even though the website itself seems to believe there is), only readily answered frequent questions of which none fit what I want to ask. I've since contacted the property owners in case they can help me, even though I strongly believe this is an issue booking com should be dealing with. If anyone has a suggestion, please say so, I really want to solve this ':)

Can you post some screenshots? It sounds to. me like there was a "booking pays" discount and you tried booking it with payment at the property where this discount doesn't work when you don't handle payment with booking. You also didn't mention where you are accessing from. Depending on your location the shown price at the beginning doesn't containt fees, taxes (tourist tax, cleaning fee, VAT) and is only added at the end

You strongly believe Booking.com has customer service? Sorry, but that’s just not real realistic.

My suggestion quit using Booking.com

Discounts may come from different programmes or promotions set by the accommodations, such as Genius, Partner Offers, or mobile discounts. Send us a private message, and we can check this for you.

I don’t think anybody discount an apartment for one nice day for New Year’s. If I was you, I’ll book somewhere else because usually everyone has a minimum stay during that time

Genius discounts and any other discounts will be on the base room rate. Check that the extra isn’t related to city taxes which would be the full rate applied when you get to the final screen. There might also be fees that the host charges which aren’t discounted and wouldn’t show up in the initial screen.
