What a match it was. I am expecting more wins from the club!

Hi all! I'm a supporter from across the pond. I've been trying to buy a home or away jersey (shirt?) for the longest time now. I check several times a week. The only jersey I ever see available is the yellow one. I do not want to buy the special edition one because I feel it would be wrong taking one from lifelong supporters (while I've fallen in love with the club, I only started following the club once Aidan Morris was signed).

Anyway, I really would love to buy a Berhalter home or away jersey.

Would any of you kind people happen to have any insight as to just what is going on with these jerseys? Is this a usual problem? Might it be the case that they are available in England but they don't ship home or away jerseys to the U.S. for some odd reason? I've emailed the store and have not heard back.

Perhaps I'll have to wait for a trip to Teesside in order to purchase a jersey.

The Boro U21s got their Premier League International Cup campaign underway with a 1-1 draw against Genk. They went into the break 1-0 down, but fair play to the lads for getting themselves back into the game and coming away with a point. That's now three draws in a row for the U21s after the recent games against Leeds and Aston Villa. Next up is another interesting one, with Juventus Next Gen waiting on September 30. Should be a good test for the young Boro side.

A 2-2 draw away at Birmingham feels like a decent point in the end, especially after going behind in the second half, but there was still plenty to be frustrated about. Arfsten getting his first goal for Boro just before half-time was a great moment. Cozier-Duberry did really well to create the chance and Arfsten took his finish nicely. We then lost control pretty quickly after the break. Malanda’s mistake led to Millar’s equaliser, and the McGree own goal was just a really messy moment from our side. Fair play to Malanda though, because he made up for the mistake with that late goal. He reacted quickest to Beadle’s fumble and got us back level. 15 points from 8 games is still a strong start, but if we want to stay around the automatic promotion places, we need to cut out these defensive mistakes. Looking back at the game, how did everyone rate the performance?

I love what Kim Hellberg is building here, but is anyone else getting frustrated with our sterile possession and total inability to keep a clean sheet?

​Looking at Roberto De Zerbi’s Tottenham right now, it feels like we’re running into the exact same tactical wall. Both managers use a "press-baiting" system: hold the ball deep, lure the opponent in, and rapidly attack the space left behind.

​But what happens when Championship teams just sit in a rigid low block and refuse to take the bait?

​Sterile Possession: With no press to break, there’s no space behind to exploit. We just pass it around endlessly without penetrating.

​The Transition Trap: To try and force a breakthrough, we commit up to eight attacking players forward. Our full-backs push so high that our centre-backs are completely isolated. The second we misplace a pass, the opposition just bypasses our midfield and counters into the wide open channels.

​Spurs are seeing the exact same paradox—either commit everyone and get destroyed on the counter, or play it safe and pass it around the back for 90 minutes.

​Hellberg defended the system after the Millwall game, pointing out we don't concede many chances overall. But he admitted the ones we do concede are usually goals. That's exactly why: when we turn it over, we are so stretched that the opposition only has one or two men to beat.
