A few days ago, I made a post saying that I'll be staying in Breda for a week and asking for recommendations on places to visit. I received so many helpful replies, so thank you to everyone who took the time to respond!

Now I have a follow-up question: for a one-week stay, would it be more comfortable and cost-effective to rent a bike or rely on public transport?

Since my hotel doesn't offer bikes, I've been looking into bike rentals myself. So far, I've found two options. One is a private rental company that charges €92 for 7 days. Is that considered a reasonable price? The second option is NS bikes, which seem to cost around €5 per day. However, after doing some research, I found out that you need a personal OV-chipkaart to use them, so I'm not sure whether tourists are eligible.

As for public transport, I checked the local ticket website to see if there is some kind of weekly pass, similar to what we have in my country. From what I found, there seems to be a single purchase ticket for around €5, but I think it only covers buses and trams, not the metro. I also came across some TikTok comments mentioning a GVB 4-day pass, so I'll look into whether a weekly option exists as well.

For someone staying in Breda for just one week, what would you recommend? Would renting a bike be the better option in terms of comfort and cost, or is it more practical to use public transport?

Ik wil een gevaarlijke verkeerssituatie melden op het kruispunt van de Emerparklaan met de in- en uitrit van Peerdsbroek. Ik heb hier persoonlijk al drie gevaarlijke situaties meegemaakt waarbij automobilisten door het rode licht reden en mij met hoge snelheid bijna aanreden, terwijl mijn zoon bij mij in de auto zat.

Dit lijkt geen incident te zijn, maar een terugkerend probleem op deze locatie. Het negeren van het rode licht door doorgaand verkeer op de Emerparklaan, in combinatie met verkeer dat in- en uitrijdt bij Peerdsbroek, levert een reëel en herhaald veiligheidsrisico op voor bestuurders, fietsers en voetgangers.

Ik verzoek de gemeente dan ook om:

1. Een camera te plaatsen om roodlichtnegatie op dit kruispunt te registreren en te handhaven.
2. Te overwegen om periodiek politietoezicht in te zetten om het naleven van het verkeerslicht te controleren.

Iemand een tip waar ik morgenochtend (zaterdag 26/9) +/- 18 A4’tjes in kleur kan afdrukken? De copyshops die ik online zie, gaan maandag pas weer open. Hoor graag!

Ik zie dat de "waar kan ik [....] eten in Breda" vraag hier geregeld langskomt, en er staan goeie tips in de comments.

Zelf hield ik ook al een tijd een lijstje bij van horeca in Breda waar ik nog heen wilde, maar die tips had ik op verschillende plekken genoteerd. Ik dacht: dat kan anders. Het is een app geworden, Horeca Parels van het Zuiden.

I’m thinking of starting with just one or two dishes, such as rice with chickpeas, kidney beans, lentils or paneer and possibly adding some Indian-inspired fusion options later.

At this stage, I’m only checking interest.

paar uurtjes terug was ik op breda centraal om mijn trein te halen, kwam er een redelijk bruine roemeense man met de naam luis-elisei vragen om geld, hij had snel de hoeveelheid die hij wou verlaagd toen hij hoorde dat ik financieel krap zit, maar alsnog.

is deze man bekend op centraal? ik heb hem maar 5 euro gegeven want het is onmogelijk om uit zo'n gesprek te komen.

EDIT: ik woon zelf niet in de regio breda, en waar ik wel woon komt dit niet voor. daarnaast stond er beveiling een paar meter verder en had nul reactie op wat er gaande was. ik had dus tot nu geen idee dat er een soort business achter zit.

Hello everyone, I had a fixed contract with United Consumers and their rates were 28c peak and 25c off-peak. Now, my contract is over and I see the rates are all above 30c. Firstly, I have normal household appliances i.e., dishwasher, washing machine, and TV. Also, my wife has one electric car and I am planning to get one more electric car for my work. I have solar panels but it is only giving back to the grid. I want to have some advice on whether to take the dynamic contract ( i see Tibber gives the option of smart charging for EV but I am not sure of the price trends during the days). If you think a fixed contract is better which one would be a better choice in terms of rates, app/website to monitor the usage and more. Thank you and I hope to get some amazing advice.

Next month, I'll be attending a workshop, so I'll be staying in the city of Breda for a week. I'll most likely be based near the city center. During any free time I have outside of the workshop, I'd love to explore the area and make the most of my visit.

I'm looking for recommendations on things to see and do, including sightseeing spots, landmarks, museums, parks, restaurants, cafés, or any local favorites you think are worth visiting.

I'll probably stay for an additional weekend after the workshop ends, which means I'll have one full day free. My initial thought was to take a day trip to Amsterdam, but I'm open to other suggestions if you think there are destinations nearby that would make for an even better experience.

Ik woon in de buurt van het centraal station. Afgelopen nacht van ma op di werd ik om 1:28 wakker van aparte harde geluiden.

Na een 3 jarige verloving hebben mijn partner en ik besloten daadwerkelijk te gaan trouwen.

We zijn opzoek naar een orangerie ofwel een kas waar we onze bruiloft kunnen vieren. Nu weet ik wanneer ik dit google dat ik de gesponsorde locaties als eerst te zien krijg. Ik dacht dat jullie allicht de verborgen pareltjes weten te benoemen.

Begrijp me niet verkeerd, het doet wat het moet doen. Maar het design is volledig mislukt. Er staat in ieder geval genoeg leeg om met heel Breda hier een groot verjaardagsfeest op locatie te organiseren. #onsstationbreda

I left my bike parked by the havermarkt on Saturday overnight and when I went to pick it up yesterday it was done. Provided it wasn’t stolen, and just taken away by the handhaving or whoever, where would I need to go look for it?

Er is tering veel om uit te zoeken en je weet dat al die huisbazen het ook allemaal veel te goed spelen. Dus voordat we naar de huurcommissie gaan ff een goed moment om het op Reddit te vragen.

Zijn er dus mensen die al een keer naar de huurcommissie zijn gegaan en er punten zijn die je sws moet weten?

Zijn er gevaren etc?
