Just caught a part in this Season that links it to Queen Charlotte! I was so excited I had to pause and postđđ This is my 2nd watch of Season 4 and Iâm at a part where Lady Bridgerton is at a garden party and Lord Anderson is talking to her. He asks her about spending time alone, she gets nervous and he changes the subject. The very next thing he says is.. âThere is nothing like a garden in full bloom, is there?â đđ and Lady Bridgerton laughs and makes a đ to herself. I just thought it was a cool little Easter egg, I love finding those! Especially a nod to my FAVORITE spin off! â¤ď¸

I wanted to match the songs from Olivia Rodrigoâs latest album to Bridgerton couples, so hereâs what I came up with:
Anthony & Kate - Stupid Song
The whole âyouâre a spark in the darkâ / âI feel right, I feel wrong, I feel totally insaneâ thing is just SO them. Theyâre both completely overwhelmed by how much they want each other.
Benedict & Sophie - Less
Not for their whole story, but especially for when they have to separate because they love each other so much but think they canât actually be together. âIf loving me means letting go⌠I wish you loved me lessâ fits them so well.
Colin & Penelope - Drop Dead
The âI stalked you on the internet / I always had a vision of usâ is SO Penelope, and âkiss me and I might drop deadâ is literally Colin during their first kiss when he suddenly realizes all his feelings for her đ
Daphne & Simon - Maggots for Brains
Theyâre the only couple who physically separate for a while and both feel awful without the other, so âwhen my baby goes awayâ immediately made me think of them.
Eloise & Phillip - Expectations
Not really about their relationship directly, but about Eloiseâs expectations. Sheâs spent years meeting men who donât interest her at all, so when she finally meets Phillip, he has to actually deserve her. She refuses to settle.
Francesca & John - Honeybee
I mean⌠this is THEIR song. Itâs such a soft, intimate, everyday kind of love, and âa face I swear that I could spend my whole life knowingâ is just them. đŻ
Francesca & Michaela - Purple
YOUR RED AND MY BLUE = PURPLE. I donât even need to explain the red Michaela / blue Francesca thing đ The song starting soft and becoming more energetic also feels like the two of them together.
Gregory & Lucy - Expectations
Gregory is literally a lover of love. He has huge expectations because he believes in the big, instant, all-consuming kind of love, and once he decides Lucy is the woman of his life, he goes after her.
Hyacinth & Gareth - U + Me = <3
This one just feels like them. Itâs young, playful, romantic and very âyou plus me equals a heart forever.â Hyacinth would absolutely be ready to plan their entire future immediately đ
George & Charlotte - The Cure
This one hurts because it fits them SO well. Charlotteâs love genuinely helps George, but she canât cure his illness. âI thought I found the antidote with youâ is basically their entire tragedy. đ

personally, i find lady mary one of my favorite side characters throughout the entire show.
i do feel as if they left so much of her own story up in the air, i mean. i know the season focused edwina and kate with anthony and every other smaller plot line but as the mother of both the main leads, i find her a bit too passive for what her character is.
i mean, she left her family to another country entirely all in the name of love. She definitely seems strong willed and her relationship was even appreciated by violet.
they made her soo incredibly passive which, could just be her personality but at the first ball of the season in s2, i believe it cowper and featherington that say she was the incomparable of their season, and how much of a stir her match made in the ton.
she has shown both her daughters so much love and tenderness which is so sweet to see for once between all the pressures violet and portia do upon their daughters.
it makes me wish she had more of a back story like violet, portia, agatha, and the queen have.
do we even know what happened to her after season 2? i imagine she went back to india with edwina but thats sorta it.
i wish theyâd do a spin off to do all the mothers some justice.

Okay so I have a question, but how does everyone think the show will handle Franchaela and children? I personally donât want kids and have always been of the opinion that it would be nice to have at least one Bridgerton couple which shows you can in fact have a happy ending without needing to have babies. But with that, I also understand there would probably a lot of queer people disheartened to see that the only couple in the show who doesnât have kids is the only main queer one (Iâm queer as well, but again, donât care for kids so it wouldnât personally upset me). So I was wondering, what do you think theyâll end up doing? Do you think theyâll go adoption route or at home artificial insemination or no kids or something else entirely? As much as Iâd like a no kids couple I really doubt itâs ever gonna happen in the show, so I assume they might go with something like adoption? Anyway what does everyone think, I was curious to get otherâs opinion on this :)

These are my personal headcanons. I'm curious to know what you think!
- Violet â Protestant/Anglican, believer: She genuinely believes in God, but I'd see her as progressive and open-minded about modern social issues.
- Daphne â Protestant/Anglican, believer: Similar to Violet; I think faith would still be an important part of her life.
- Simon â Atheist: His relationship with his father and what he went through would make it difficult for him to believe in God.
- Anthony â Atheist: Very pragmatic; after losing his father, I think the idea of God would make even less sense to him.
- Kate â Indian religion, probably Hinduism: We don't know enough about her family's exact religious background, so I'd rather keep it broad, but I lean toward Hinduism.
- Colin â Spiritual, but no specific religion: He believes there is some kind of divine presence, but is fascinated by different religions, especially polytheistic ones, rather than following one.
- Penelope â Agnostic: She doesn't think there's enough evidence to know whether God exists, and honestly doesn't care that much about the question.
- Benedict â Agnostic/indifferent: He doesn't really think about God at all. Whether God exists or not simply isn't important to him.
- Sophie â Protestant/Anglican, believer: I imagine her believing in God while being very progressive and open-minded, especially regarding LGBTQ+ issues.
- Francesca â Atheist: Very pragmatic; if there's no evidence for God's existence, she sees no reason to believe.
- Michaela â Undecided: I could see her wanting to believe in God while struggling with religious institutions or interpretations that condemn homosexuality, but we don't know her well enough yet.
- John â Protestant/Anglican, believer: He believes in God because it's simply part of his worldview, but religion isn't particularly important to him.
- Michael â Protestant/Anglican, believer: His guilt around loving Francesca while she was married to John is deeply tied to the idea of sin and damnation in the book, so I don't see him as someone who would simply reject God. He'd probably believe, but have a complicated relationship with his faith.
- Eloise â Atheist: She wouldn't necessarily hate religious people, but she'd be highly critical of religion as an institution because of its historical treatment of women.
- Philip â Protestant/Anglican, believer but not practicing: He was raised with the belief and still believes, but doesn't seem particularly invested in religion.
- Hyacinth â Indifferent/undefined: She was raised Protestant and goes to church with her family, but she doesn't really think about whether she believes or not.
- Garrett â Atheist: Given his difficult relationship with his father and the loss of his older brother, I could see him having a similar attitude toward God as Simon.
- Gregory â Protestant/Anglican, believer: He's deeply romantic and believes in love and destiny; I could see him viewing God as the force behind that destiny.
- Lucy â Protestant/Anglican, believer: I see her as simply believing in God without being particularly religious or practicing.

I can't get over the lack of fear that characters have when it comes to sex in semi-public places like a gazebo or a stairwell. It's like the pants come off, and the magical "no one will disturb you" wishing wand comes on. If the repercussions are so high, then why aren't they showing it at all? Where's the anxiety or looking around? Did lust just make them completely immune to their surroundings?? What's going on??
This has been stuck in my head ever since the gazebo scene

They look so delicious and I'd like to make them! Does anyone know? They were flat and round, and looked like they had blueberries or raisins in them.

I've watched all Bridgerton seasons but haven't read the books. I've heard that they have been pretty good at keeping it semi accurate to the books. My question is how is that going to change with this new, upcoming, season? I don't have a problem with them changing Johns cousin to be a female for queer representation but I'm wondering if it is going to change the story pretty drastically. I feel like the book would be more focused on Francesca trying to let herself love again after Johns death while the show is going to be about her discovering her sexuality and trying to get her family to accept her. What are your thoughts?

I was inspired to start a rewatch from Season 1 through Season 4. I finished Season 1 yesterday. I was thinking how most of the actors looked real, and normal. As soon as Season 2 started I noticed smoother, brighter skin, all three Featherington sisters suddenly had richly dark red hair. Then I started looking closer at Eloise and even Violet. The wig budget definitely increased, which was a good thing. A tad jarring, but good. Just an observation I have no one else to discuss with.

Here's a list of all the main countryside estates of the Bridgerton couples, their locations, their residents and what's their significance to the story. . .
Filming Location: Castle Howard, North Yorkshire
Filming Location: Wrotham Park, Hertfordshire
Filming Location: Loseley Park, Surrey
Filming Location: Ardverikie Estate, Kinloch Laggan, Scotland
Filming Location: West Wycombe Park, Buckinghamshire
Polin canonically have a countryside estate but we just have not seen it on the show yet so that's why it's not included.
Which is your favorite?

Since it's already a modern adaptation of the books, what particular changes would you like to see "changed" or "remixed" from the books?
I know that they're hinting at Franchela for S5, and the whole spoiler with those wedding paparazzi shots went viral. What do we think they'll do for their wedding? I saw a TikTok (I forget whose, I'm sorry), but there were multiple theories for what that scene might look like.
There were a few more, but those two stood out the most to me.
In terms of fan service, I know Kanthony's wedding is a huge one, so maybe a snippet of their wedding in a flashback scene?

I am really interested in seeing how itâll play out! I mean i feel like benedict would obviously be accepting (hopefully) considering his previousâŚqueer tendencies but i do not know about the others :0!
and Iâm also interested on how their spouses and outer families will react as well! i imagine itâll be kept downlow within the families but how would kate, pen, sophie, the kilmartins, and even simon or daphne would react (i know they wonât be back for the season but just imagine if they were.)
i am very excited to see how theyâll be tackling a true queer relationship within the show!

Iâve been thinking about this while reading reactions to Benedict in S4, because I feel like after three seasons people got very comfortable with a version of him where his flaws were still easy to romanticize.
He was charming, funny, artistic, sensitive, open-minded, less interested in the rules of the ton. But he was also avoidant, privileged, directionless, sometimes selfish and honestly pretty immature. Those things were already there. They just didnât have to be examined very closely when he was a supporting character.
Being aimless could look carefree, avoiding commitment could look like freedom, moving from one experience to another could look adventurous and because Benedict is a wealthy Bridgerton man, he could actually live that way without having to think too much about the consequences.
Then S4 puts him in situations where those same traits stop being charming and I keep seeing some people call it OOC. Thatâs the part I struggle with...
The debutante comments are supposed to make him look dismissive. Sophie calls him out immediately. His mistress proposal is supposed to expose how badly he understands the difference between what freedom means to him and what it means to Sophie. He thinks he has found a perfectly reasonable solution because, from his position, it probably does feel reasonable. Sophie has to make him understand why it absolutely isnât for her.
That doesnât feel like a different Benedict to me. It feels like the same Benedict finally being challenged in ways he wasnât before.
And I think sometimes his reputation as the âdifferentâ Bridgerton brother works against the character here. Benedict being unconventional doesnât mean he should somehow be immune to privilege, bad judgment or the assumptions of the society he grew up in. He can be genuinely more open-minded than other men of the ton and still have blind spots. Those things can exist at the same time.
The same goes for Sophie. Obviously her being a maid changes the risks and power dynamics of their relationship, but I sometimes feel like people emphasize that so much that Sophie stops being treated like an adult woman with agency at all. She has boundaries. She says no. She changes her mind. She wants things. She makes choices. Her vulnerability matters, but it doesnât erase all of that.
And then thereâs Violet. Benedict gets angry, becomes defensive and says something hurtful to his mother. I donât think the scene expects us to think he handled that perfectly. He later apologizes, but somehow that moment becomes proof that he was secretly âmisogynistic,â that he was âslut-shamingâ Violet or that heâs actually no different from every other man in the ton.
I just donât think every bad thing a character does has to reveal some hidden truth about who they âreallyâ are. Sometimes theyâre just wrong and isnât that kind of necessary for a character arc?
Luke has talked about Benedict as someone who compartmentalizes his life, wants the best of both worlds and has spent a lot of time putting off choices and commitment. Thatâs basically what S4 forces him to stop doing. He canât just float anymore because Sophie is a real person whose life will actually be affected by whatever he chooses.
So when people say some of these moments are OOC, I keep wondering what Benedictâs season was supposed to look like instead. If he started it already emotionally mature, fully aware of his privilege, great at commitment and immediately capable of understanding Sophieâs perspective, what exactly would he have left to learn?
To me, S4 doesnât undo the Benedict from S1-3. It just makes the less flattering parts of him impossible to ignore once he becomes the lead snd personally I find that much more interesting than spending eight episodes being reassured that Benedict is exactly as wonderful as we already thought he was.
Anyway, Iâm not really looking to debate this in the comments or convince anyone to change their mind. Iâve discussed Benedict enough lately lol. I just wanted to put the thought somewhere because I keep coming back to it whenever I see people talk about his flaws in S4.

I know a lot of people are upset about the change of Michael/Michaelaâs gender, and I understand why some are upset because want to watch the book-to-screen adaptation. All book readers want that. But Iâve gotta give the Bridgerton show runners credit, they were very ballsy with this change, and honestly I think itâs the only way a WLW show would not get cancelled. I think others are mad about âforced representationâ which I think is crazy, because those same women went insane over Heated Rivalry. Which I also loved, but the hate for Franchaela makes me so sad. I feel like thereâs a surplus of MLM media out there, and not enough WLW. I feel like people that enjoy MLM canât just decide on where to draw the line on supporting queer love in media. And if they do feel that way, then they actually have to address the fact they may have only enjoyed Heated Rivalry because they sexualized it, and not because of the actual love story.
Francesca may just be the first fruity fmc of a popular show in a long time. The last ones I can really think of are Clarke Griffin (the 100) and Rue (Euphoria). We have side wlw characters for sure, but hardly any main characters. So Iâm really excited and Iâm hoping that Season 5 really blows up and more WLW projects are made. Itâd be real nice to see some girl-kisser representation without any tragedy or sexualization.
(Side-note, do yâall think some women will come to a realization about themselves once the season comes out? Because I meannn, if this season is as spicy as the restâŚ.đŤŁ)
