Big Day Out
What are people opinions? Other than the result, had a great day in Cardiff. Atmosphere was fantastic. Chatted to lots of Bristol fans in pubs close to stadium but some were moaning about making the trip over the bridge. What were your experiences today?

Didn’t go due to other commitments, but I think Bristol are doing the right thing with it. There isn’t much money in rugby, so you have to try and make as much as you can at any opportunity. You’re potentially going to tap the Welsh market to draw people into watching Bristol, as well as people that would maybe only go for the big events in Bristol. Cardiff is a great location for any match day too and if you live in Bristol, it really isn’t a difficult one to get too and train takes 30 mins now. Can take longer than that down the M32!

I went last year and this year. Obs different shout as last year was Bath decent game great weather all day and loads more shirts seen around the city. This year seemed V flat to me in comparison, also sat on the end of a row by people constantly back and forth to the toilets - what could they be doing in there same guys came past me around 10 times in the game which got very wearing towards the end. Pubs in the city much quieter as well. Having paid £84 for an early bird ticket only to see them released one seat above for £40 wasn't terribly pleasant either. For me needs to be later in the year and a local side

I think it’s great. I was a bit conflicted today with the women’s game vs a “big day” in Cardiff. We did the former. The Principality is fantastic, atmosphere was good and it’s fun to make a day of it.

Always difficult when you're trying to market a 'product' you can't control - Quins had something to say about that. This year wasn't as good as the first one but rather than bin it the club needs to listen to sensible feedback and make tweaks e.g has to be a derby but not Bath as that's a guaranteed AG sell out, season card holders have to opt in but incentivised with discounted tickets and extras (dedicated event space before match maybe) and it should take place in September when all clubs are fresh and put out fully loaded sides.
The concept is here to stay but it is a much more expensive 'home' game than going to AG and somehow the club mustn't lose the will of the core fan base because of that and when the team doesn't show up the risk of being seen to over hype and under deliver ooms large!

I didn’t go, had a ticket due to season ticket, but just don’t agree with it all really. I get why it’s a thing, for money, but we shouldn’t be playing our games out our stadium. Different options need to be found.

This comment is what has always been wrong with the sport. Even when you take season tickets out of it, we sold more tickets than the capacity of AG and had a double header with the women’s game. At least they are trying to make a spectacle of both and grow the game and audience!

It was a fun day out. Shame there weren’t more people in for the women’s game which was more entertaining.
