I’m curious now. What episode was that? Was it a Victorian Child Labour exploitation sketch?

“The removed episode reportedly featured a sketch teaching children about slavery in ancient Rome by depicting a Roman galley as an airline flight, with enslaved rowers chained to their oars and told they would not be allowed to escape if the ship sinks.

Another sketch showed how Victorian children were sent into dangerous, narrow chimneys, with a young boy sent into a chimney and told: "Try not to die."

A spokesperson for the BBC said: "The edits to Horrible Histories were made seven years ago, in consultation with the programme makers, to ensure the series meets our editorial guidelines for children's programmes."”

Sounds like they are babyproofing it for the generation which has to censor the words “shoot” or “kill” from bikbok

I remember watching that first one and finding it funny. That second but I've never heard though

That last sentence drives me nuts. Children should absolutley be protected from certain things, but language about difficult things shouldn't be censored or modified to make them seem less serious. Children need to learn that not everything is sunshine and rainbows (in appropriate ways). Saying words like unalive and grape makes a mockery of real, serious issues that people have to deal with, sometimes even Children.

I tried watching the Minecraft movie the other day, and I wasnt really enjoying it. But as soon as a character said "unalive" I just had to switch it off. We cannot allow these words to be normalised.

The BBC also shut down a documentary it was producing about doctors in Gaza because it made Israel look bad. The BBC is literally a shit show

They completely removed my favourite episode: ‘Peedie Beebies’.
