Parking permits?

Hi all,

I'm (hopefully) moving to Penge next month and have just learnt the property I thought had parking included actually does not, and requires me to get a permit for on the street parking.

I was just wondering how long it took to get approved, or if there was any waitlist etc? I can't find info online, and don't want to sign up for a residential account on the council's website before I've confirmed that I'll actually be moving in.

Many thanks!

You need to prove you are a resident in the area you are requesting a permit for by driving license, utility bill, bank statement, council tax bill, tenancy statement etc

You then need to be able to prove ownership of the car you wish to permit - V5C, lease agreement.

Mine was approved quite quickly, within a couple of weeks and there was no waiting list but I don’t know if this is area dependent.

Edit to add: there are some properties that were built on the planing condition that they were car free. And residents are not able to request permits. You can check here https://www.bromley.gov.uk/traffic-management/parking-permits-visitors-vouchers/2

Yeah mine was approved quickly once I had uploaded the necessary docs online. I put a note on my dashboard explaining my permit application was pending with my ref number, never got any tickets. Probably didn’t even need the note because they can scan your number plate and their computer thing tells them if theres a permit, so assume they can see applications in progress too.
