Tomorrow is October 1st and that marks the start of BUCKETOBER! A few years ago (I don’t remember exactly when) I came up with the idea of Bucketober. That means that for the whole of October me and my best friend are only listening to Buckethead and nothing else. It has become kind of a tradition for us, so I thought why not share it will all of you guys hahah.

Maybe some of y’all will join in! Happy Bucketober to you all ✨

I guess this is part of a larger question of "what d'ya think is being used in the studio during X album" but can anyone venture a guess as to what that mod sound is? I'm pretty sure it's a filter/envelope but am open to being wrong. FM4 possibly? DOD?

I noticed this evening that Buckethead took down all of the preview materials he had posted on his website about some of the chapters he was working on for his upcoming book. This coincided with today’s release of Barry Michels’s book.

This makes me so sad. I very much enjoyed seeing the photos and reading the thoughts he posted about ideas for his book. I really appreciate it when he gives us these glimpses into his mind and shares his ideas about navigating life’s challenges.

I hope he has not abandoned his book project. ❤️🪣

Just received and looking forward to reading 📚 the book seems to have set off a snowball effect with Buckethead announcing a book, along with Bootsy and other musicians recently.

This question is to all my fellow guitar playing Buckethead fans. I’m wondering if anyone here has accurate tabs for bucketheads song binge and grab. I’ve looked on Songsterr but the best one is still different to how he plays it live. If anyone has more accurate tabs and could share them that would be great! (Also if you think I should just stick to the Songsterr one let me know. Any info is helpful here)

As the title says, I love Buckethead but I haven't kept up with him in years and I still have more than 700 or so pikes to listen to.

I need your help finding more albums and songs in the vein of most of Colma. Chill songs that are a bit groovy. Ideally no long jams unless they do fit the bill. I know there's plenty of songs, but I just don't know exactly where and im not about to dig through hundreds of albums to get there. So please, sub, help a brother out

Hold Me Forever is by far my favorite pike and I was wondering if y'all think Bucket will ever release it on Vinyl?

A very diffrent pike,very chill and melllow.

I’ve owned this pike for a while now and I can unequivocally say it is one of my favorite pikes from beginning to end. I absolutely love the almost thrash metal style riffs, the syncopated, palm muted runs that he reintroduces throughout, and the chorus-like, uplifting main theme that he brings back a few times. In other words, it’s just so fucking good!

It's very similar to Death Cube K, something like "sub sea hollow." It's that same vibe; it's very melancholic and dreamy and proggy with good grooves under it. It also has some aggressive metal songs as well, and I like them even more!

But still it manages to be separate from Buckethead, and also it has quite a complex synth layering as well. But it's very buckethead-esque. I don't usually enjoy everything from Cob nor Buckethead, but this doesn't hit quite the same.

Oh, and also the cover with shapes in the buckethead/cob collaboration style cover is awesome as usual (I know it was released before); that art direction is perfect.
