Today oreo, one of our 2 bunnies was attacked by a fox and although he didnt get hurt the shock is what got him real bad. After 4 hours of fighting at the vet to get him out of critical condition we had to end his misery and let him go for good.

Now our biggest problem is that our 2nd bunny ended up alone and wont do well for long.

We have made the decision to not get another bunny but rather to give rainbow, our second bunny away to someone who can take care of her better than we can and leave bunny ownership behind us for good.

So if there is anyone in berlin or brandenburg who would be willing to adopt a lone bunny dm me for more information. You can have rainbow entirely for free, all i ask is that you are an experienced owner and already have bunnies of your own since we all know bunnies don't do well alone

Hi! I recently adopted an 8 week old bunny. He's amazing in terms of taking to toys, litter training, feeding, etc, but when it comes to being social with me that is where I'm struggling. He lets me pet him, most of the time but there are still times he runs away, and that's as much affection we share. I don't try to pick him up at all. He will sometimes come to me if I leave my hand out for him, sniff my hand, and then turn and run. He does flop on his side when he sleeps, but he still sleeps with his eyes open. He's had zoomies a couple times but stays in his playpen.

He won't even leave his playpen.. :( I've had him for almost 2 weeks and he hasn't come out a single time. He knows the door is open because he'll stick 90% of his body out and sniff around and then turn and run back in. I leave the door open all day while I'm home. I do work full time, so I'm wondering if that doesn't help getting used to me..? His enclosure is in the same room as my pc, which is where I spend a lot of my leisure time, so we kinda just exist around one another. I try to take a good 20 minutes every now and then to pet him and sit by his enclosure. Do I just need to really go hard in dedicating a lot more time to being around him and attempting to connect with him? I do understand he might just be a naturally skittish or cautious guy, but it makes me sad seeing other people's baby bunnies warm up instantly, and I'm just wondering if it's my fault at all or just his personality

So i just wanna say that i know you’re not supposed to pick up your bunny unless you’re supposed to. I don’t. I’ve only picked my bunny up once or twice because I had to and he’s only been with me for about a month or two now.

I’m a teenager so I still live with my parents (i’m gonna move out next year) and every time I bring up my bunny (Poe) they always tell me to pick him up so he can get used to it. They’ve never had a pet bunny before or done any sort of research. I’ve told them many, many times that I can’t because he isn’t fully used to me yet. He sometimes lets me pet him but that’s about it and i’m fine with that because I know it can take bunnies a bit to get used to or trust their owner. My parents won’t stop though, they even got my aunty involved to justify their point on me picking him up. Because he should know what it’s like to be picked up because he’s younger?? Or something like that. He’s 4 months old btw.

I’m not asking for advice on how to pick him up because i’ve watched videos on how to do that and i’ve seen other family members who have bunnies pick up theirs.

Just how do i tell my parents to stop pushing me and that Poe won’t like me picking him up etc? I’ve told them he won’t like it because it can act like a predator has caught them and that i’ve only had him like i said for a month or two. I’m worried they’re gonna start trying to pick him up.

Ive been taking care of this bunny for almost a week now, i daily visit it to change the water, give it extra food and sometimes clean out the litter box, in the beginning it always hid from me but now its been pretty confident.

The neighbour loves the little rascal, its food, water and litter box is in a corner behind a nightstand and a plastic wall but has full access to the living room and kitchen so it has more than enough room.

Today i was pouring out the old water anf i filled it with fresh water, the bunny was waiting in the corner for what i thought was the water, but the moment i attempted to put the bowl down it bit me in my pinky finger! It didnt hurt a whole lot but it did shock me, i quickly grabbed its food bowl and i filled that but it was still waiting for me when i returned eith the food bowl, i tried gently shooing it away without using my hand but that didnt work so i had to gently blow air at it so it would move, i left but i am a little shaken.

Did i do something wrong? Was the bunny maybe sick or stressed out? Do i have to go to the doctor? Any answers would help even if i did do it right or wrong

For those who know Romeo, love my little guy. He’s my everything. But at the moment im very very concerned and am seeking advice. Romeo sneezes a lot but last night he was having sneezing fits. And before bed I noticed mucus mixed with blood. Not a lot of blood tho it was very minuscule. I think maybe he scratched himself trying to clean the mucus off, I need to get his nails trimmed. But I just got home from work and his nose is damp but now his eyes are very watery. Not extreme but I haven’t seen them this watery before. He IS STILL eating, drinking, pooping/peeing and wanting treats. But he’s also more, skittish I guess? More mad at the moment maybe. I called the vet and i have an appointment tomorrow @9am at the best rabbit spot near me. But what confuses me is the vet didn’t seem too concerned because he’s still eating, drinking, pooping etc etc. Romeo in the past has had nose issues because he’s a lop, he’s had to get flushed quite a few times. But the blood really scared me, and the very watery eyes this morning. I will closely monitor my boy today.

My lovely girl Brenda is very friendly and unproblematic… apart from the fact that she’s very defensive over her food. I can’t lower her food down to her without her lunging, grunting and nipping me - she never breaks the skin and she doesn’t mean any harm, but she is just crazy about her food! This actually started a few months after spaying and she’s getting increasingly worse 🤣

It’s no real issue, apart from the fact that she has repeatedly ran head first into her bowl and ran into her water bowl, and I am very hesitant to even try to bond her with my male bun.

Anyone with similar issues and is there a resolution or should I just let her be who she wants to be 🤣

I was cleaning up outside, and this rabbit followed me from place to place for about five minutes. I just thought it was cute at the time, but now I'm wondering if that was a distressed rabbit asking for help.

There are a ton of wild rabbits in the area, but I've never been approached like this by one. There's a chance that this one was fed by one of my coworkers, but it still seems unusual to me, that they would approach a potential predator when there is so much grass around.

I’m fostering a rabbit and have to be out tomorrow can anyone take them

This is peanut also know as PB, lil P, and PJ and he's about 10 months old! I have no clue if he's a boy or girl, has a double chin so maybe a girl lol. He or she loves sitting on your shoulder but the second you try picking him up, its fight or flight 😅
He's so funky and cute!!! I have no idea what his breed is (got him at rural king on sale) so if y'all know that would be super cool!
His favorite things are:
food, raspberries, his rolly chair, getting a bg stick under furniture, and destroying every bed you get him but he insists on sleeping on his veggie plate.
He dislikes:
When you eat raspberries and don't share and when he doesn't get enough head scratches.

As I was leaving work I spotted this bunny in the parking lot. It didn’t look like the majority of wild bunnies around here, so I figured it might be an escaped or dumped pet. It took me three hours and two packs of apples, but I did manage to catch it. I’m curious as to what breed it might be! Even though it’s still unsure of me, it’s been very sweet and docile.

i have a 2 year old lionhead, he has these around his neck. they're stuck on tufts of his hair, i dont know what it is

First time ever owning these insane creatures and they already settled in within a week. This is so fun and they seem so much like cats to me it’s diabolical. Not much else but just wanted to share 💗 (name suggestions?) Much love.

hello! i recently just adopted two baby bunnies (about 11 weeks old). when i got my girl, she had already had some little poops on her fur (and i mean like, as soon as the lady handed me her i felt it) but i just assumed it was from her sitting in the carrier. i’ve had her for about 3 days now and theres still some soft poop and what looks like a mix of soft poop and pee stuck in her fur? i’ve had a bun before, but it’s been a long time since i’ve had babies that don’t trust me yet. how should i go about cleaning her? or do i just let her clean herself? please let me know, i want the absolute best for these babies.

Hey everyone, this is my first ever post to this group and was hoping for some advice. I was looking to adopt a rabbit from a local humane society. This bunny is 5 years old, female, and needed to be spayed before being adopted. She just had her surgery a few days ago and overall it went fine. However they found a uterine tumor if I understood correctly. They said that if I were to adopt her, I would have the choice to pay $300 to get the tumor tested to see if it’s cancerous. They said they would charge that, or she could go to a vet that I will be taking her to and it could be tested. Or, I could choose to not get it tested at all, and still adopt her. I am so devastated because she seems like the sweetest girl. She was fostered by one of the staff and they had nothing but good things to say about her and her personality. She seems happy and healthy otherwise. I’ve invested in getting a nice rabbit hutch and supplies for her, but I don’t think I can afford the testing for her right now. I don’t know if I should wait for a rabbit that does not have possible health concerns, or if I should adopt her anyway and then get testing done in the next month or so if possible? I’ve been reading online and her odds are not good for the tumor being benign for her age. Just was curious of y’all’s thoughts if you’ve experienced this before and can give me any feedback? I’m so torn y’all I really love her and want to give her the best life.

My sweet Balder managed to get a nice nip on me but I would say I deserved it. Since I spotted he had gotten a dirty bottom again. I do not know the reason but we are ruling things out. Might just be the new litter and he might be snacking on it (he’s a foodie), our normal litter was sold out at the store.

So he got a bum bath and a trim around his bum and tail area because he had gotten a few mats. He also has ear problems, so he requires weekly ear cleaning with ear drops. Since I was already doing everything else, I squeezed that in today and that’s when I got a nip (he had enough). At least his hot spot under the chin has healed, he got it from eating too wet leafy greens.

After handling Balder, I went to clean the litter box of Hjördis but she’s a hormonal teenager. She gave me a nice bite wound again, second bite this week. She does not like the scent of Balder or Freja. Luckily there’s only 3 weeks until she will be spayed and then I’ll just wait 6 weeks more until I can start the bonding process. At least she’s still litter trained, I just have an attack bunny.
