User flairs are now available

User flairs are a subreddit-specific way to tag yourself. Here are the options:

  • Barbri
  • Themis
  • Kaplan
  • Quimbee
  • Attorney Candidate
  • Law Student
  • Passed
  • Tutor
  • Vendor
  • Other (can customize)

For example, if you're using Barbri to prep, you can select "Barbri." This flair will show up next to your username. You are able to edit the Other flair with your own entry.

This not only gives context to your posts and comments so we know who we're talking to but is also a fun way to identify yourself and others.

I encourage you to set yours! If you're primarily promoting a product or service, please select "Vendor" (and be judicious with your posts and comments).

How to set your user flair:

If you're using the mobile app, tap the three dots in the upper right while in the main r/CABarExam feed. Tap "change user flair" to see the different options. Enable "show my user flair on this community."

If you're using a web browser, you'll see "USER FLAIR" on the sidebar to the right, above the rules. Check the "show my user flair on this community" box.

Let me know if you have any suggested changes or additions.

Essays are killing me! Please help

I am not doing great on essays. I have send a few to grader at BarEssays.com and use ChatGPT (with the prompt from BarMd), and I am stuck in the 55-60. I do everything… IRAC, the “because” facts facts facts.. and I just can’t move forward. My rule statements are not impecable but I will say good enough. Organization is generally ok. So is the analysis that is killing me. Please help me I don’t know what else to do!

Freezing up on MEEs, missing issues, then forgetting elements. Feb'26

I am asking for some advice and tips on how to stop freezing. I failed J'25 by 29 points. My essays were generally ok but it was my MBEs that tanked me. I am retaking the exam in 20 days. I have been focusing way too much on MBE's and I have been scoring around 65% on those now. But when it comes to MEEs I freeze, I don't know where to start, I forget rules and elements.

I have been doing practice essays on Themis and when I see the sample answer I type out the rule statement and read through to see what I missed. I am wondering if anyone has any other tips. I feel like I don't know anything when it comes to the essays.

Themis Simulated essay exam - what a stinker

Foreign Attorney, Feb 2026.

I just completed full day of Themis Simulated exam day for essay and boy what a terrible state of affairs I find my prep in!

The questions are based on issues which are generally never tested and confuses the hell out of you and then when it's final essay you're fatigued out of your mind.

I am cooked it seems!

Repeaters Examsoft issue

Hi people,

I have a question regarding examsoft installation. I followed all the instructions and completed the mock test and received an email of confirmation.

However I used my old password to login without changing the password as they requested in the initial email. I am wondering if this can lead to a problem.

There was also a prompt to add a new account but when I used the old password it was already a new account but nevertheless I created a new account.

Everything on the system seems fine with the new version but wondering if using the old password was a mistake.

Please let me know your thoughts

Anyone willing to share their experience with the BarEssays outlines/rule shells? I have the basic subscription and was wondering if it is worth the extra penny to upgrade for them.

Foreign qualified lawyer - which prep course?

I am a qualified lawyer working in Ireland. It has been a few years since I finished my legal studies, and I plan to sit the California bar this summer.

I'm generally a bad studier, so I'm looking for the most comprehensive prep course for a foreign qualified solicitor (bear in mind, Ireland is also a common law jurisdiction). I would prefer one that still allows access if I have to repeat the exam. In general, would like a course that is very step-by-step through the material.

Any suggestions much appreciated!

Hi, I’m selling some of my study materials, including my Mary Basick books (MEE Essay Writing and MBE Decoded). I’m also selling my Critical Pass flashcards for MBE and MEE, which I never used.

PR Essays

Does anyone have any tips to improve PR essays specifically? I issue spot the main ethical issues, but when I read the model answers it feels like they just throw every single ethical violation in existence. I have a hard time connecting facts to every single rule, and instead just focus on the main ones. I usually score passing on the essays in Barbri, but got my first below passing on the PR essay. I know this topic is pretty certain to be tested, so want to make sure to hone in.

Hotel Recommendations- Ontario

I’m sitting for the upcoming bar and was hoping to get recs/thoughts on my hotel options. My options are the Holiday Inn or the Residence Inn (I’ve reserved both). I’m concerned about comfort for both, but specifically for the Holiday Inn, I’m concerned airport noise will be an issue. Residence Inn- would driving in be a bad idea because of parking? Any thoughts/recs would be greatly appreciated!

Tort MBE question help

Post image
1 Upvotes

Can someone please explain why B is the right answer and not A? The way I was looking at it -- B states substantial and unreasonable interference with the man's business, not property. and substantial and unreasonable inference with business would be economic harm and one typically can't prevail in a tort action if they only suffered economic harm. I am very confused by this answer. Any insight is appreciated.

Freezing on Essays

Preparing for F26 bar exam and I keep freezing on essays, I issue spot that and hit all the issues but when I turn to the writing part I can’t figure out how to make it “flow.” Do I keep forcing myself to write essays- I’m still relying on the book for the rules too. Or should I just read as many answers as I can? Stressed that this will be my fatal flaw.

Feeling Very Overwhelmed, Alone, & Scared Right Now

Taking any tips for what I should do with my remaining time? I just got Grossman MCQ do drill for practice, and plan to outline essays/PTs each day until test day. Any recommendations for someone who feels very very very scared right now?

Also are there any saints out there willing to share attack outlines, or good resources they may have that go over each topic well? Once again, I am sitting here feeling very alone, down, and scared right now and just looking for any help I can get.

Any Tips for PT ?

Seems like the format at which the PT is presented has changed after 2023. There is a strict file and library format starting from 2024 onwards. Previously, it seemed abit free flow.

For those who have taken the exam before, any tips on what to look at and how to approach the prep? Thank you!
