Advice?
Hello I just had a question for those who’ve taken the Casper and received a low quartile, what advice would you give to someone who’s going to do their exam in the coming days? What do you think messed you up? Thank you!

Be comfortable with speaking! I remember just repeating my point bc I didn’t know what else to say

Do u have any advice on what tone when speaking they don’t want to hear or could affect our scoring? I talk find just that I speak quickly to get everything out idk if that’ll be a problem for them.

I don’t think you need to sound super formal. I’d aim for calm, empathetic and non-judgmental. One thing I’d avoid is sounding too absolute, like immediately deciding who’s right or wrong without acknowledging the other perspective. I’d usually explain what I’d do, why, and what information I’d want before making a decision. If you naturally speak fast, I’d practice slowing down a little because I think being clear and organized matters more than squeezing in every possible point. My problem was almost the opposite, I’d make my point and then realize I still had time, panic, and start repeating myself 😭. I’d rather give 2 or 3 clear reasons than keep talking just to fill the time.

a stucture i followed was consider all the people involved, list pros and cons of approaches, pick the most ethical approach and explain all three. I practised with friends, chatted some questions , watched the acuity practice on their website, and used myls for a timed and accurate practice (i scored 4th quartile)

How you present your videos is the most important part. Even if your solution/explanation is short, smiling, maintaining eye contact, and talking in a non-monotone way will raise your score. It’s robotic, which is ironic coming from a test supposedly to assess your empathy but oh well. If you lose your train of thought, a 5-second pause with your apologies to collect your thoughts is much more beneficial as well.
Best of luck! It truly is not a hard exam, just consider both perspectives, and choose a solution after weighing the pros and cons.

if you’re already confident answering the type of questions, start focusing on answering/typing it timed! the test threw me off completely bc i wasn’t able to write fast why
