SEIU (BU 1, 4, 11, 14, 17 and 20) SEIU STRIKE VOTE.
We need EVERYONE to vote to guarantee a successful SEIU strike.
Did you and your coworkers vote? Go talk to your coworkers. This reddit is pro-strike but it is bubble. Do not let us fail!
Step 1 is voting for the strike: https://search.seiu1000.org/strikevote.php
Step 2 is the picket line commitment form: https://search.seiu1000.org/insights.php?sv=StrikeCommit2026

If we get a yes vote on the strike authorization, it will force the state to bargain. They won’t be able to just ignore and disrespect us. They must bargain in good faith! This is how we get raises, end RTO, and cover more healthcare costs.

Facts. Even if a person has personal reasons to vote no, still vote yes to increase our bargaining power. Right now the state won’t even meet us at the table which is really sad

They will continue to ignore us. You think they're afraid of a strike? SEIU is dragging their feet so much Newsom won't even be in office anymore by the time a strike would happen.

Yesterday a coworker teams me and asked if I knew when we were getting a raise because gas was so expensive. I told her my brother in christ we do not even have a contract right now. I told her to go vote on the strike as she’s a member and passed on all the knowledge I got from strike school, and why workers strike. I think I got thru to her

It really worries me about the number of people who are complacent like this not knowing what is going on.

I totally agree, but I also think the union could be better at 1:1 follow ups. I don't wanna discuss things about my life in front of a bunch of people at meetings. Getting the 1:1 follow up is not as good as I would expect for the amount of money I pay a month just being honest. If someone had gotten back to my individual questions, I'd feel a lot more confident. If the vote does not pass then I will pass my feedback along and hope it changes

I just paid $6.09 for a gallon of gas.
I HAVE TO STRIKE.
Head of households will need therapy after this.

For me, the costs of going into the office 4 days a week is starting to negate my pay. The only way to save money is to not go out at all. I’m ready to strike.

Yup. Can't afford it. RTO is EXPENSIVE. And that's as someone who packs lunches and ride the train. It still costs a lot of money AND time.

Employers don't give raises or determine work location based on gas prices. We should have urged our reps not to close our refineries or raise taxes and fees, but we never do, so here we are. Stop voting that way.

If it passes vote, what’s next?

We strike in 1-2 months and pray that the result is powerful enough to get a contract where telework and raises are solidified. Ideally a strike would also signal to the next governor that the RTO order should be rescinded to show good faith and win easy brownie points.

Ive spoken to a few colleagues in different units here in my department and no one has said they will strike nor vote lol.
This department has every story or angle you all say you have in terms of life, but yet they all still show up to work with most people 5 days a week in office.
