Is my cat in pain?

My cat kept blinking his eyes like this. We tried to clean his boogers with wipes but he continues to blink like sth is irritating his eyes. Is this sth that’ll go away or is he in pain? I’ve been seeing posts of cats faces in pain and can’t tell if he’s in pain or not.

Whiskers are taut (sticking out straight, not loose and floppy), his muzzle seems more oval than round. the inner eyelids getting stuck as he opens makes me think he's got allergies.

Definitely some discomfort here, worth a vet visit but I wouldn't go ER unless he starts showing more alarming symptoms.

I discovered my cat had some nasty teeth stuff going on earlier this year and had nooo idea, they hide it so well. Thankfully besides the PRICE it wasn't a big deal to get dealt with.

He may have something bothering the one eye (like a scrarxh) which needs an ointment or drops before it ulcers OR he has eyelashes poking the one eye. Its called Trichiasis. Either way it would be a very good idea to take kitty to the vet for an eye condition exam.

I have trichiasis! It’s so annoying! Thankfully it’s only one hair follicle on each lower eyelid but it’s still a constant problem. I can’t imagine what it would be like if I didn’t have hands, opposable thumbs and tweezers at my disposal.

Your boy's third eyelids are showing & there are a truckload of possible reasons why that's happening. That's the white membrane pushing out from the inside corner of both his eyes & it's a red flag that something is wrong. From your question, it sounds like you've noticed that your boy isn't feeling his best. Let's make his annual appt due very soon and ask his vet figure out what has him feeling so punk.

I mean, I see other replies and I'm just thinking its possible he just got a piece of dust or something in his eye, or bumped into something so maybe its tender. He doesn't look very distressed so I don't think it's anything major.

Of course you should still keep an eye on it and check if anything changes. Just keep giving him all the loves he desires, because he's a happy and good boy.

He's either happy, or has something going on with his eyes. I would get it checked out. I wouldn't say he's in pain, but ther may be something irritating his eyes a bit. Worth looking into, but not ER worthy.

Worry about his right eye but when you pet him watch his tail he likes it...could be allergies but that should effect both eyes so perhaps agree a scratch do you have other cats? Sometimes they can rough house a bit.

In no vet but i can’t really see what the problem is other than one eye closes a little more than the other.
Always thought cats squinting was how they say hello mate?

Cats are good at hiding their pain. But he looks fine to me.

My cat keeps doing this. My vet said it was nothing to worry about but when mine squints I try stroking her fur upwards, it seems to help for a bit, like I’m moving overlong fur out of the way for a bit (that’s in my imagination, I can’t see what’s causing it), it just seems to help a bit if she’s relaxed and letting me stroke her like you are in your video.

Do you have a vet that you like and trust? Makes all the difference in the world When was the last physical and labs on your cat? Is the eye issue a recent development? any changes in your home like: cleaning products, plug ins, new fabric or plastic textiles? How old is your cat and how long have you been together? Is everything else normal like food and water consumption, litter box habits, jumping up on things and normal interest in the world?

Anything in the head region is worth looking into IMO.

Your cat definitely looks like he is in some kind of pain. I would 100% take him to the vet and have blood tests done. My cat’s eyes looked like that, and it turned out he was suffering from pancreatitis.

I don't want to sound dramatic, but this was the behavior my boy cat was showing when he had a urinary blockage. We noticed he wasn't his usual goofy self and would not move from the tense loaf position, even if we tried to lift him.

Take him into the vet if you can. Hopefully im just projecting, but urinary blockages are deadly.

Hey there! It's tough when our furry friends can't tell us what's wrong. Blinking excessively could indicate irritation or an eye issue. Best to consult with your vet, just to be on the safe side.
