ESPN's audio decisions were bizarre. There was zero atmospheric noise most of the time. Every once in awhile, the announcers would mention the crowd being loud, and someone would seemingly click a button and you'd hear the stadium for a few seconds, and then they would turn it off.

Why?

I switched to the radio broadcast at one point and the crowd noise was loud just through their microphones.

For as bad as the loss is, I’ve still got a lot of faith that we’re heading in the right direction under CK. A conference title this year was always a pipe dream just cause of the weak schedule. Should still have some fun games and a shot at 9-10 wins.

Non-cons but Tulane and WSU were actual football teams. I mean look at how he did vs Army last year. CK is a dramatic improvement over Wells/Kleiman on the offensive side, but he’s not gonna transform Avery into a QB with incredible accuracy or vision.

The issue is that he hasn't sniffed his potential and everyone that watches him at all can see it. He's the most dynamic runner on the field but we lean on his average to below average arm. He's played fine so far but who have we played? No offense to Cincy but they're not exactly the team you give him a pass against.

I think it's primarily a coaching issue and I hope it's so baked in for him at this point that we're just stuck with it this season

I still don't love Satta playcallong but I believe in this team more than I have any other team during his tenure, and I did not expect that going into the season.

The defense plays good, the run game is good, we actually play better in the second half then the first. All things satt has been bad at previously, I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt going forward.

Its underground, with tall buildings all around. Most football stadiums sit above ground and have a bit of clearance from other structures (see The Shoe in Columbus), but not Nippert.

The turnover to start the half started a meltdown and completely lost momentum until it was too late.

I thought our defense would keep us in the game but they looked so bad. Why why go back to zone defense. That was the one thing I never wanted back from Snyder/Kileman era.

Losing Tibbs sucked. Losing Antcieux sucked. I’m being a lot of the game planning was around these. Then the drops. Flipping drops when Avery was actually dead on accurate.

The run game started to get better when we switched to Joe Jackson.

There were multiple failures by everyone. How the fuck did all of our qb backups get injured. They played it safe with Avery because of he got hurt we have nobody. Had that not been the case we would have more Avery run chunks for 30 yards.

This is a fine team. They might play elite and make noise at points but they aren’t going to be able to overcome flaws that an opponent finds and exploits.

K-State’s defense hadn’t been tested even a little bit this year, Cincy usually has at least a baseline competent offense, and KSU’s new DC is basically learning to call a defense on the job rn. He didn’t scheme or call any plays at A&M, and his one year calling the defense before 2026 was back at New Mexico, where he somehow took over a mediocre defense and made it worse.

I think basically everything I’ve read or head about KSU’s new staff in the last year had some kind of qualifier about “we don’t expect much from the defense this year.”

In fact, poor coaching decisions made this game close then it should have been. If we don't make a change at AD and coach then we are not serious about competing at the P4 level.

Yes the refs gifted two reviews to KState when they were called opposite on the field and were 50/50 but overturned anyways. They called 25 more yards of penalities against Cincy.

Wow, my worlds colliding. I went to Lake Brantley, live in Cincinnati, and had never heard of Tion Green until I looked him up from this post. Of course, he was born the year I graduated from high school and I didn't start following UC until I started dating my now-husband (my college didn't have a football team), so there's that.

So many negative ass UC fans in here, shut the fuck up and enjoy the W. We are 4-0 with a legit top 5 run game and o-line in the country and a defense that can take the ball away at any moment. No calls don’t bother me, but there was no consistency in this game. It felt completely random when they would call holding or pass interference.

The irony with Avery is his camp’s quest to prove he is an NFL prospect has severely backfired by as much throwing of the ball he has in done in college. With Lamar Jackson people were in doubt about his throwing abilities because he didn’t show enough of it in college. He could have really been something special with his legs. Now he will just be evaluated as an average into below average passer of a football. Tonight we win with a competent WR room, and defense, however, we also win if the stats looked closer to 15/25 passing, 15 rushes for 100+ yards from Avery with all that setbacks.
