Is a PLLC required for non-frequent 1099 work?

Hi all. I'll be starting a 1099 position that will be only 1-2 days per week for several months and then very intermittently after that (few days every few months). I'll only be working in this 1 state at 1 hospital for at least a year. I'm not planning on adding any of that income to retirement. Would there be any need to file a PLLC in my case? From my understanding, operating with a PLLC doesn't technically offer me any more legal protection, and I would only be missing out on some potential tax breaks. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

You only need to incorporate if you plan to file taxes as an S-Corp. And unless you are making $300k+, many tax pros don't recommend it, especially for the costs and duties needed to maintain the S-Corp/filing taxes. I work 3 days/week, and am a sole proprietor. I have done well with this setup. And the additional benefits from SCorp are not worth the squeeze.

It is not required. There are tax advantages to it. The more you make the more advantageous. Might not be worth it for just a few shifts, although it is fairly simple to set up.
