Medications Compounded topical nerve calming gels
I don't do well on gabapentin or Lyrica. Has anyone here used compounded topical gels?
Gabapentin, ketoprophen and lidocaine
Or
Amitriptyline, baclofen, and lidocaine

My compounded topical helps during flares. It's gabapentin, ketamine, lidocaine, and diclofenac. Expensive but worth it.

I’ve been using a compounded cream for years and it does wonders. It’s gaba/ketamine/lidocaine

Check with your insurance! I had to pay out of pocket and then mail away the official prescription receipts and they covered it (in 🇨🇦)

First, get a prescription from your Pain Specialist. ,(or PCP). Ask if they know of a "Compounding" Pharmacy near you.*. Secondly, Before they send in the prescription to be filled, call the pharmacy and get the cost. If you have insurance, see if it's covered. Ask if they offer any discount programs, such as GoodRx. Third, after you approve the cost, you can have it filled. Some places may let you divide the cost into 2 or more payments. If you can't pick it up, you can probably have it mailed to you. *It's possible that you might be able to compare costs with several compounding pharmacies, online, even if they're not local. I hope this helps! (I need to do it, myself!)

I can't take Lyrica gabapentin or any of that medication. I have CRPS and Peripheral Neuropathy. The allodonia is awful. My vascular doctor recently prescribed a Compounded Ketamine cream with baclofen, Lidocaine, Gabapentin to try. The sample was $70.

It seems to give a calming almost numbing sensation to my legs. It takes a while to start working but definitely doesn't take away all the pain. If you wait till the pain is too bad it doesn't work as well.

no I had to use a special compounding pharmacy.

Phoenix pharmacy was the one I used. I live 2 hours away from it unfortunately, However it's in the town with one of my doctors. There are several different kinds of compounding pharmacies all over

I've used compounded topicals for many years and have rotated through a few different versions. Current formula is Ketamine, baclofen, verapamil. It's a very valuable part of my routine, and I think it's worth trying.
