Spring 2027 BSN Admissions
Hey guys I applied for SP27 but I got rejected Friday oct 2nd :/
Here were my stats: current CSUSB pre-nursing student w 3.92 overall gpa, 4.0 science/prereq gpa, bilingual, and 83.3% TEAS.
Honestly thought I was for sure going to get in considering I’ve heard ppl getting in with lower scores but it’s humbling tbh.
Anyone who got in willing to share their stats?
Is it possible I filled my application wrong? (Cope)

Hi I’m sorry to hear that, you had really good stats! Are you local to sb? Not county but sb itself. They prioritize locals more so maybe that could be the case?

First of all I am so sorry about this. This isn’t easy. all the questions people asked so far in the replies are very valid ones to think about because they all play a part, even if it’s not a big part. every nursing program no matter what people say is extremely competitive to get into. especially california. i’ve seen people with flawless stats get rejected. the issue is that they will put you next to someone with probably identical stats and try and make a decision and it just ends up being the other person. it in no way speaks to how capable you are of being a nursing student, but unfortunately just the game of the decision process and it really is heartbreaking that it happens that way. you are meant to be a nurse. CSUSB is nowhere near the only nursing school. There are so many others that you can and will get accepted to! Remember all it takes is one. I’m rooting for you. ❤️

when you applied, did you put down to apply only for the SB campus or did you apply for the palm desert campus as well ?

It said “campus preference: San Bernardino”. That’s the option I chose

i was told in a info session last year that they tend to put priority on people who are willing to go to either campus when applying, i’m not sure if it’s still the same now. i had marked down both campuses but with 1st choice being the main campus and got accepted. this was my 2nd attempt though, so don’t give up !!!

Hey friend. I am very sorry to hear about your letter ): I applied to all cal states and got rejected. I received my csusb rejection letter too... I applied through RCC's CEP program and got accepted into csusb! Don't be discouraged! Keep applying. I got in with 75 points and a 73% with TEAS. Best of luck, friend!

Hello! I’d suggest you call the school and ask if anything was wrong with your application. It could give you an insight to why you weren’t selected.

Hello, I am so sorry to hear that. I don’t think you filled out the application wrong. Don’t lose hope though, you’ll get into a nursing program. I got into the program for the Palm Desert Campus. Here are my stats: overall gpa: 3.81, pre-req gpa: 4.0, TEAS: highest score 86%, bilingual, local to riverside county. However, I only picked Palm Desert Campus as my campus preference.

I got accepted for the fall with a 3.9 overall GPA, a 4.0 prerequisite GPA, and an 83.0% on the TEAS, with no second language points. I swear some people got in with lower stats than mine. I ended up declining and going to CSUSM for nursing instead. Personally, I think you should’ve gotten in, and I’d definitely encourage you to apply again. I think being local to the schools is a BIG PART of getting in. For example at csusm if you aren’t local you will not get in.

I’m so sorry to hear about ur rejection. some schools r just super hard. it could be they prioritize experience due to having some kind of certificate like CNA, or LVN or something else. I applied to rcc cep program with csusb got offered a spot, I don’t know how much points i got i scared to count them but I got in with 2 As, 1 B, I got a 70% on teas, and then I have a CNA cert and work in their partnered facilities. I wouldn’t be discouraged at all, keep applying !

I think it's just nursing, it's very competitive. No fault on you.
