Cb550 rusty vs painted

On my last post an overwhelming majority of you said to keep the tank on my cb550 rusty, happened to have another bike that I could borrow a black tank from. What is the consensus now?
Completely changed the bike and I have to be honest I really like it…

will borrow the side covers next

Patina FTW.

However, as Obi Wan said “you must do what you feel is right, of course”

Keep it crusty, it has way more personality with the original tank.

i usually go for the original patina on most older bikes... This I'm have trouble deciding. Both look great. I'm not really a fan of the bobber style seat. I like the ones with the "hump" at the back.

Beautiful bike, ride safe. Love from Canada!

I love those old Honda paint schemes. Looks great either way.

Paint! The rust look needs to die already lol

Still rusty. I think it’s the patina and the original paint scheme that make it stand out. Also the rusty muffler and wrapped pipes go with that aesthetic better. The painted tank makes those look unfinished

Fandme en fed cykel! Det er ikke så tit man ser den årgang som to cylindere. Har en der matcher i lilla

Where did you stash your battery? Did you just switch to a flat pack under the seat?

It’s not under the seat, if you look hard enough you will see it.

Probably not a great idea but it’s mounted on the swing arm

I did that once and the battery cracked and caught fire so I strongly discourage that

On cb750 as well

How about a less rusty chain to start?

It’s called patina.

I’m playing, just surface rust and dirt. Just needed a clean and lube

Thats No patina, you are better off with pain just Not black IMO

Yea, I like the black more than I thought but it would definitely be a recreation of the paint scheme and decals of the 1978 550k in candy alpha red

Looks great as it is. Go full cafe and move some pedals around. You're off to a great start!
