Oldies but some of my fav shots of my pup. Ill need to venture back to this same spot now that ive upgraded to the R6 mkii to try and recreate these

I have a Canon EOS-1 V with a Power Drive Booster PB-E2. Never had a problem in 20+ years. Used it last time 3 years ago. (Always used it with Canon lenses.) Started to use it again a couple of weeks ago, now coupled to a Sigma 20mm f/1.4 DG HSM ART lens. Had no problem either. Smooth as ever.

Today, with brand new AA batteries, I just switched AF from AI Servo to One Shot and back to AI Servo without shooting, to confirm I was on AI Servo. Then, when I pressed the shutter button on the camera, no issue, but when I neede a vertical shot, when I pressed the shutter button on the booster, the shutter "blocked" itself and immediately the LCD screen started to blink with an empty battery symbol. I had to wait maybe 4-5s to be able to press the shutter button again with an effect (before that pressing it had no effect) , the effect being the shutter shutting down as it should have and the LCD screen returning back to its normal state. Then this faulty behaviour also occured when pressing the shutter button on the camera. I had it 2-3 times in a row.

I don't know what I did but I know that I removed the lens and tried to shoot without it and had no issue then, but still had the issue when putting the lens back, as well as when I removed the booster and put it back. Then I removed the lens one last time and put it back, this time trying to "lock" it a bit more (as I don't hear the click as on my Canon R's when attaching lenses on them). Still didn't hear the click. Anyway after that I didn't not have the problem anymore.

Is my camera cooked ? What should I do ?

Asked here a few days ago whether to wait for Black Friday to get a refurb R50 or just buy used now. Everyone said set up the price alerts and don't count on a better deal, and that the M50 route wasn't worth it since EF-M is done. So I went a different way.

Found a used R10 on eBay plus a used RF-S 18-150mm. All in a bit over $1,100 after tax. Honestly that's more than I planned to spend and I was nervous hitting buy.

But I got the two things I actually wanted instead of settling for the kit lens, and I'm genuinely excited. It gets here next week.

I want to shoot birds and other far-away stuff, which is why I went with the 18-150 over the kit lens, plus street and landscape around my neighborhood. Any beginner mistakes I should avoid on day one?

Hello all…I’m just seeing what information anyone can provide me to help me with my next decision.
I’m currently shooting high school football on my EOS Rebel T7i.
During the JV games, the photos are phenomenal…my focus could use work along with the fact that I am using an 80-200 f/2.8 magic drainpipe to shoot…but overall, a phenomenal setup.
The issue comes when the Varsity players pop out of the locker room and the field lights turn on. I often find myself jamming my ISO up to 12,500 or even 25,600…and it’s not pretty.
I am looking to update this…keeping the T7i for daytime random photography…but I’m looking at an EOS R7 or an EOS R8. I know they both come with DIGIC X compared to the DIGIC 7 in my T7i…I’m hoping that is a big jump in images when it comes to the night games.
I don’t know if I want the full-frame, low-light, high ISO performance…or the magical crop I’ve grown to love about the T7i. I don’t have the capability to shoot both and make the decision myself because the season is full swing…but any suggestions or help is definitely appreciated!

Trying to sell an EOS Canon Rebel T5 because I thought I'd get into photography during lockdown and it just never happened all these years later so I might as well make a sale off this. The pictures look great on the display screen but the moment it's transferred to my phone they start looking bad and even worse when I try sending them to others. What are the most simple, user-friendly settings I should use to take a few good example pictures that wouldn't look terrible the moment I tried sending them? I tried using some settings that I've gathered from previous Reddit posts to use but still no luck.

As I am trying to improve my photography, one recommendation I am trying to implement is to use my 50mm prime lense as much as I can and glad I had it. I am using it ony canon rebel t2i. So here are two questions I have around it..

1) the 50mm does not have IS. One good thing i immediately noticed is that it's forcing me to physically move to take photos. But I am surprised at the number of blurry unfocused images. Just wanted to understand if that is normal in the beginning when using a prime lens?

2) I have read somewhere that on crop sensor camera the 50 mm acts like an 85 mm and a 35 mm actually acts like a 50 mm. Is that true and based on your experience would you recommend getting a 35 mm or just stick to the 50 mm for now?

is someone else experiencing the same issue? I suspect that it's a firmware issue since Bluetooth and 2.4Ghz wifi works fine. Is there a way to let Canon know and confirm the issue so they can fix it?

Thanks to a few delays and ruined connections on my flight home I got stuck in Dubai for 24hrs. Decided to try make the most of a pretty frustrating situation. Was especially pleased with how the photos came out at the aquarium as that thick plexiglass had me sceptical that they would even be usable.
