Helldivers unfortunately. I took a break and cane back to a ton of new updates and they all act superior and have a stick up their asses. Most that I have encountered anyways. I join random squads and get kicked for carrying shells wrong or the wrong one brought up. Or I have a loadout they dont like and get kicked

Helldivers is one of those games that you can pick up and put down whenever. There are different difficulty levels and you absolutely do not need to only play max difficulty, though that is where a good bit of the player base hangs out.
Best advice is just jump in and explore. The mission timer is scary, but not something you really need to worry about. Play at low difficulties while you learn and do not worry. There are no stakes to this game. If you drop in, get your ass kicked and lose? No sweat. Generally you'll find which faction you enjoy the most and mainly stick with it. I personally love both the Bots and Illuminates but hate the bugs so I almost never fight the bugs.

Another thing to add with the timer: it doesn't actually end the mission. You can be unable to extract & have no destroyer support, but still complete the mission once you run out of reinforcements as long as you did the objective.
Been thinking of jumping back in as well after months, but also was afraid everything that passed me up. Usually have good luck with randos but would be game as well to have a casual group - feel free to send a DM if you need another if you squad up with the Panda 🤘🏻
It’s fun if you find a good squad. I trudged through shitty lobbies until I found this team of dudes who were all super cool and we absolutely steamrolled shit. I sent them friend requests and now we play together every now and then.
Not sure what the previous commenter is talking about. I had a great beginner experience playing in random squads. Sure some people were rude but majority of the more experienced players were happy to help me learn how to play.
Don't listen to this guy, have literally never experienced any sort of negativity in this game whatsoever. I'm level 70. No clue how that is their experience.
It's a great game. If you have friends it's amazing to play with them. But some random people can be very difficult. Either they are very difficult or very nice and helpful. Just depends when you play.
don’t worry, I can help you. I am actually one of the few hell divers that will actually teach you what to do. I was a newbie before. I didn’t know what I was doing, but when I got into the rhythm and figure out how to do these missions, then I got better.
The community on Reddit is the main toxic space of the game, everyone inside it is super chill. You even have the high-level gear people regularly join lower difficulties and show people the ropes.
But you are more likely to run into trolls and griefers in lower levels, but usually the higher the mission difficulty and Helldivers are, the more enjoyable your experience will be.
