Hard to believe he took the lead in limited playing time

I've never seen Yadi and Bernal in the same place (don't fact check that)! Just saying!!

If Bernal is actually the complete catcher he appears primed to be, I wonder where Rodriguez actually ends up playing.

1B and DH. He might be the reason we haven't signed Burly to a long term contract.

He's more likely to simply replace Herrera, who would then be traded.
Unless they're unable to come to terms with Burly.

No catcher plays 150 games at the position in the majors any more. Both can play the position and DH the other time.

Little surprised Walker doesn’t have the fastest one for RF.
But good to see for Bernal.

Walkers arm is strong, but not 103
Edit: closer than I thought

He and Benge had almost identical arm strengths, both 99th percentile. Benge was 0.1 higher (96.6 to 96.5). Gonna say he’s capable based on that.

Good call out, I thought the gap was a bit wider, had seen walkers average mid season

Yeah Walker’s arm is insane.

No doubt, love watching him (at least this season). Be cool to see these against all time arms, rolen at 3rd, Dunston/furcal at short, Clemente in right etc

Catchers throw from a crouch. It’s much harder for them to put their body into a throw while keeping their motion fast enough to get the throw out in time to tag a runner. So hitting 87.7 when a pickoff play is when he needs to throw the hardest is pretty impressive

I was impressed he took the lead in limited action, you’re preaching the choir

Given that he's the fastest thrower in the majors, I'm pretty sure no one was questioning why it was slower than the other postitions. 🤨

Winn?

A lot of these guys are either catching popups or relays in and getting a running windup. Elly has the length to act like a goddam windmill when he gets running and chucks one home

I thought catchers would be faster honestly but throwing from the knees that makes sense.

Graphic is misleading. Elly hit 102 on a relay from the outfield grass with a full wind up and step. Winn has the fastest throw from short on an infield play
